Yes, I Still Have the X-Pro1 - ONE Main Reason Why

Although the x-pro1's sensor produces amazing colors, I rarely shoot color with it anymore. Rather, I've grown quite fond of the black and white images the xpro1 produces. Slowly, the xpro1 has made its way to become an exclusive monochrome camera. Today I'll share why I use it as so, along with the settings I've used to create many of my favorite images. Enjoy :)

YouTube, one of the few places where people actually seem embarrassed or apologetic about using pro grade DSLRs or older mirrorless cameras. ;) Consumerism and marketing in the tech space has users so fooled into thinking that only the latest gear is relevant. Anyway, great looking images, congrats.

I also made the decision to have my X-pro1 for shooting B&W exclusively.
I'm not exactly sure what it is, but I simply love the way how the x-trans1 sensor renders B&W shots. They have sort of a filmic quality to them in my opinion.

ONE main reason - it's the GOAT. Also have you tried Jorge Perez's Dark Knight recipe for the XPRO1 / Xtrans I? It's a great B&W recipe.

Just got an xpro1, my first Fuji camera and I'm in love. Coming from an Sony a7riv 61mp & a7siii 12mp!! I take out the Fuji more every week

A nice one. I decided some time ago tonuse my XPro1 exclusive for B&W. Most of my B&W work is done in JPEG so I have tried various recipies for film simulations. My two favorite films, when I was shooting film, were TriX 400 ISO and Technical Pan pushed from 25 to 50. I have not been able to reproduce them, but I am quite happy with my results.

I discovered you lately and I don’t understand why you don’t have much audience. Thanks for your inspirational videos .

I have been doing monochrome on my DSLR and I just love it. So I know for sure I will love it more on the XPro1 too. Thanks for the video.

I own several Fujifilm cameras. For me, the X Trans 1 sensor has the most beautiful colors. What I like best is the colors of the X pro 1. It looks a bit analog. Tastes are different. Best regards

I'm after the X-Pro1 at the moment. Here in Australia they are as rare as hens teeth. If you do find one, you sure pay for it.

I also just started using my X-Pro1 for B&W. I am a longer time Capture One user and only get dragged into the Adobe ecosystem to use LR with Negative Lab Pro for film conversion. You mentioned that C1 doesn't support Fuji X-Pro1 B&W and I think I backed into that realization. When I import Fuji raws into C1(V22) they all appear as B&W; but then, they all get resolved as colour images! So, what are the steps that you take next?

Ooh love this. Gonna get mine out more. Ever considered monochrome sensor conversion for yours????

Great points, I have an xe3 but plan to get an xpro1 purely because I wanted one since it came out! What lens do you use most for the xpro1? I love my 18mm f2 for monochrome.
