Beauty and the Beast Live- Something There

The King's Academy, a National Blue Ribbon, Christian school in South Florida, recently presented "Disney's Beauty and the Beast" on its main stage in the new Page Family Center for Performing Arts. Starring TKA senior Gracie O'Connor (Belle), senior Casey Gustafson (Beast), junior Chris Pappas (Lumiere), senior Graham Popadic (Cogsworth), senior Kate Higgins (Mrs. Potts), and senior Sam Cornelius (Gaston), this performance showcased TKA’s fine young talent.

TKA’s Conservatory of the Arts, a two-time American High School Theatre Festival award-winning fine arts program, is led by Mr. David Snyder (Artistic Director, Musical Theater, Department Chair), Mrs. Sonia Santiago (Vocal Arts), Mrs. Cathy Higgins (Dance- Ballet, Tap, Modern and Jazz), Miss Riselle Portuondo (Dance- Ballet and Modern), Miss Sarah Fahey (Theatre Arts), Mr. Brad Majzner (Stagecraft), Mr. David Skinner (Instrumental Director), Mr. Wes Lowe (Assistant Band Director), Mr. Patrick Clifford (Strings), Mrs. Macey Norton (Video/Digital Arts), Mrs. Laura McFaden (Visual Art), Miss Stephanie Revell (Elementary Choir, Woodwinds), and Mrs. Robin Phillips (Piano).

The scene when Belle tells the Beast that she knows what it’s like to be lonely is the sweetest, most adorable moment I have ever seen in a stage show. I wish that Disney added that scene in the movie. Even the remake might have had a better chance if they did.

At the beggining of the video my first reaction was that her voice was annoying, but then she started singing and shut me up immediately, what a beautiful voice and technique I am amazed ❤

I think that showed up in my recommended videos because I watch Gracie's YouTube channel! The whole first scene I'm squinting going "....wait is this the year that Gracie did it ? oh my gosh yeah that's her!"
She is such a hardworking and talented young lady, and it's really cool to see her in her element before she started YouTube! I'm from Canada and this level of musical theatre at school at least where I'm from is really unheard of so this is really cool to see and now I'm going to watch all the rest of her performances!

Edit: her Belle voice is so perfect it literally doesn't even sound like her and she kept it the whole time I'm sorry if I sound naive but this level of musical theatre literally does not exist where I'm from I'm sorry😂

Everytime I watch this version, I can't stop thinking how expensive tuition must be for the theatre dept to be able to afford the set.
