Python is one of the most important developer languages out there today. This is because it is so widely used, and in many different programming use-cases. Python is used in AI, ML, data sciences, web application development ... and more.

I started learning to code from your Web Design: Start Here book and I''m dragging myself through an introductory python textbook now, and I just wanted to say thank you for providing so many great resources to learn coding. If it weren't for your book my motivation for learning in this field probably would have faded away by now

Currently learning Python and getting into web development. Great video, thanks!

Great video, thanks. I've recently decided to focus on leaving my current career, and begin to learn to code so I may change in the future. After much research, I decided to begin with Python. This video, although short goes a long way to reaffirming my decision. Thanks again.

I keep watching this video over and over to embed it in my brain as to why I am learning this language. It keeps me pumped for doubtful life questioning days. I bought the course yesterday!!! Yayy, so excited to open up my world to the possibilities!

Hi Stef, what you refer to is Darwinian theory which speaks about humans being adaptable creatures of nature. Which is why we are considered to be on the top of the food chain, hope this helps.

Learning Python helped me better understand PHP. I jumped into Python coming from JavaScript at the time and I loved how I could just open up a text editor and start to write code. I had an idea for a numbers game and I just wrote it. I’ll never forget that feeling of having an idea and just expressing it in code. But with JavaScript I felt like I was in a box and tied down to the web browser when it came to learning how to program. I also finally understood OOP in Python after a failed attempts in Js and PHP.

One of your BEST videos Mr NERD 🤓, concise and very good insights.
Jeez why didn’t I have a tutor like you back then here in London

Great video as always, Stefan! However, even though Python is my second language after I learnt a little bit of Swift (and I totally agree with you that it gets so so so much easier to learn other language after exploring the first) it is honestly still a real struggle in fact becoming a real professional programmer as it is not just learning about syntax.

Like I personally dived in into studying now of Algorithms and Data Structures, Design Paradigms, Math (i.e. doing re-freshing courses on Calculus, Statistics, even touch based on Linear Algebra and Discrete Math that I've never done before) and also about to start a course I found on Econometrics using R as it deals with Data Science (where Im really aiming at to get into at the end of the day) just to study a little more of the practical application and get an idea what its all will be like in a real world.

But again, there is just so so so much still to learn as Im moving, I guess, into more intermediate field and items that I've never even though about that I would need to learn, i.e. have a good knowledge of IDEs, frameworks, having a little bit of knowledge to work better with Database environment as it will always be the case, cleaning Data, to have an idea on system programming, to know about Test Driven Environment and etc etc etc it's just so much and that is not even mentioning the Data Science materials that I'll have to learn like such libraries Spark, Matplotlib, NumPy as these are bread and butter of Data Science on Python and kind of skills and knowledge that is needed.

Thus, I know that it was definitely a lot but could you please do a video perhaps more for Intermediate Programmers on what areas are the best it is to concentrate in order to excel in becoming more or less professional programmer and perhaps your views on typical mistakes, challenges and other issues that you might recommend or think worth of mentioning.

PS I guess, just to be more specific that Im struggling with in particular with is that it is not difficult for me to repeat someones code but the main problem arises in cases where I want to write my OWN(!) code or project or software to my needs but it doesnt always work for me as what I come up with is either of a very-very primitive quality and basic level (if even I can come up with something) and also Im struggling with combining a multiple elements of even basic code that I can copy from somewhere else trying to emulate someone's prior experience but even then it doesnt really work for me in a lot of cases. So subsequently I get stuck as my knowledge of programming is limited and sorta sample ideas might not always work at all or are limited in what Im trying to achieve or not sophisticated enough or perhaps my imagination is not enough to challenge these, if you understand what I mean

After weeks of looking for great web development tutorials on youtube I just purchased Stefs courses and they are super fun and easy to understand. To everyone who wants to learn python and/or web development, buy his stuff, it's incredible affordable and he is a great teacher.

but what about node.js/javascript ? everything that you said in this video, node.js can do as well. But node.js excel in is you can very easily consider as a fullstack developer unlike python developer who can only consider as backend developer.

I wonder why people miss C# and.NET as a freelancing tool. Especially now with. Net core. In C# you can write windowed apps, console apps, mobile apps for all platforms, huge services, internet pages and so on. And the language itself is a blast to work with, even more with tools like ReSharper and OzCode

What sucks is that many Py jobs require at minimum a Comp Sci degree to get beyond the HR wall at most companies. I wish there was a better way for those without the paper.

Question @ Python : a data science boot camp requires an IOS laptop. They claim Windows systems have too many problems with 64 bit errors are unresolvable. They claim UNIX compatibility is required (virtual UNIX or Linux in a Windows system is equally problematic. What is this about? Misinformation? I run projects in both Python and R in Windows and have not encountered issues.

I'm giving myself 3 months to learn python basics but I'm moving quick. I'm having fun with it because it's easy to learn. I love to create. I'm looking to also have cloud administration under my belt. I think it's the combination would stand out and I enjoy Azure.

I'm so torn between continuing learning JavaScript or switch to Python. I was just on Indeed and I chose some high tech cities. I searched Python and then JavaScript. In some cases, the amount of jobs for Python doubled that of JS. Try it for yourself. Go to Indeed - Austin, TX and it's currently 2k jobs for Python vs. 1k for JavaScript.

I wish they would have taught python or programming in general in school when i was growing up. Exposure to coding at an early age would have been amazing, during the time when children go ham on something like they would the newest console game.

I'm starting to doubt that python is the maximum since to date I can not find a solution to delete a stringvar variable with delete.
