Whats wrong with it. Worst case it breaks and you can just put the old anvil back. But in the mean time it acts as a driver and a wrench

1/2" for a 1/2" yes the anvil is no longer solid.

This is a great upgrade for people that don't need the high torque of that impact.

Drilling out the center really doesn't change the strength too much, but more importantly you're going to use a half inch impact gun to drive a quarter inch bit

Bosch has been doing this already and it works fine

It’s still a half inch anvil you just have the quarter inch drive in the center. Bosch has made these for a long time

Depending on the anvil material. Honestly frames of vehicles and suspension components and other things that take far more abuse are generally hollow. I’m not concerned

That thing aint got enough cookies to break the anvil

That's was actually 1/2" to 1/2" it just had a custom adapter built into it..

It isn't about breaking it. It has lost mass and, therefore, torque.

You gain an over powered .25 but loose .5 capabilities.

The uga duga doesnt duga as much.

This is how Bosch impact drivers come out of the box. But those don't have nearly the power of an air powered ½". Not sure what power this one makes but it looks to be an impact driver.

Why not use an adapter? Why do all that?

If you can afford a 1/2 inch impact you should be able to afford a drill driver set 😂 😅

They didn't switch the ½ for a ¼ they fit the same socket on it

You’re still using the impact for its IPM. This is still better than an adapter, so not sure what you’re going on about lol.

The quarter inch is also a half inch on the outside

It’s the same size drive… they literally replaced it with the exact same size

I had one of these and ran it until it caught fire, other than that it worked ok.. if i still had it id be using it to jack up my trailer for camping bc that doesnt need much torque. I didnt do the swap myself btw
