What are your thoughts on vintage lenses??

I’ve just used your idea to pair my Canon RP camera body with my vintage Pentax K mount 28 mm lens with the lowest f stop 2.8. The only thing weird about this combination is the looks. Contemporary looking camera body and this “ancient”, manual lens is rather awkward pair. Yet it works like a dream. Love the pictures. Thanks!

It is definitely a super stylized look. I think it is super cool to see old lenses getting back some love!

I just got my 44-2 in the mail, and couldn't figure out why it wouldn't shoot. Thank you for that bit at 4:50. As a beginning photographer, this was as helpful as it can get.

Looks like there's a slight fade to it as well, which also adds to that vintage look. Another great video bro!

I love vintage lenses! Yeah they are not as sharp and they don't have auto focus but there is just a feel and look which really can not be replicated.

I've got the same Cosina camera and lens. The lens will be MUCH better when stopped down a stop or two - wide open, it's awful. Nice to see if I upgrade from my Pentax K50 to a Canon R series, I'll be able to still use my current lenses.

Very useful to know abt the shutter setting; I bought a pk-eos m fotasy adapter, and i was so confused why I couldn’t take pictures. Thank you

The note about the menu option "release shutter without lens" was worth seeing the video! I never would've figured that out! And your comment about the older lens softness and lower contrast was important to me - I think I would've tried to "fix" the photo in the editor to make it look like a modern lens! If I do that, then what's the point of shooting a vintage lens? Great video.

I also have few vintage lenses from Nikon which I tried out few months ago on my main gear and I deffo agree with you. It adds that vintage look on the footage which is not something bad tbh! Great video, looking forward for your next video 🤓📸

I have purchased 2 lenses on ebay recently with M42 thread and converter to L mount and videos looks different... lack of modern sharpness.... but that's a positive side, vintage look. On modern lenses you need to use filters to soften an image. Fantastic experience

i was extremely excited when i bought an adapter in order to use my pentax 135mm 2.8 on my 100D for astrophoto. Too bad infinity focus doesn't work at all. There seems to be no solution to the problem. The lens works flawlessly on its original camera but on my canon with the adapter it just won't focus. I just gave up considering the prices for a canon lens with F 2.8 or something in that range.

Is there a trick on removing the adapter from the lens. I am afraid to damage the lens

Hey. Does the video stabilization work when you use the EOS R with vintage lenses?
