New video shows missing student Riley Strain speak with police on night he vanished in Nashville

JUST IN: Newly released video shows missing college student Riley Strain briefly speak with a police officer on the night he vanished in Nashville, Tennessee.

Officer Reginald Young came across Strain while responding to a car burglary on the night of March 8, according to Nashville police.

On Sunday, police said Strain's bank card was found on the embankment between Gay Street and the Cumberland River, near Riverfront Park.

When my son and daughter were teenagers, they had a number of friends that had been kicked out of their homes by their own parents. There was no way I would let them sleep in a park. And get arrested for it. They came to my house. Over a few years, I probably had a 1/2 dozen kids living at my house for a month or 2 at a time, until they got this s*** together. And found another place or begged their rotten parents to take him back in. I'm sorry I don't care how bad your kid is. You don't kick them out on the streets to fend for themselves.

He spoke clearly enough in that small clip. What I don’t understand is why his frat brothers let him walk home alone, being that wasted or intoxicated.

My 20 ish year old Grandson's friend called him really late one night. He had been kicked out of the house with other 😢 boys by the home owners (parents of the boy that lived there.) His friend was drunk and cold trying to sleep on a downtown bench. I told my Grandson...'get in the car...we are going to get him'. And we did. You just never know what dangers are out there.😢

I'm curious what time this interaction took place. From the other videos, you can tell how intoxicated he was, but in this video he wasn't stumbling & he was coherent enough to respond to the cop, without slurring his words. I know it's literally a 3 second video, so we don't have the entire picture of what took place, but it is important to Riley's timeline that night!

This story shows that it matters that you pick the right friends and that you are a good friend! Never let a friend, female or male leave a place by themselves, especially if they are intoxicated. You never know what can happen! Always stay in pairs or more. And if it your house, let them stay until morning. Parents: please don’t throw your kids out no matter what the argument or problem is. It is better solved in the morning
