Exactly.

Quran [3:103]
"And hold firmly to the rope of God all together and do not become divided."

But also be careful about using calling a Muslim a disbeliever, since Prophet Muhammad has prohibited denying someone's belief if he says he is. The prophet said we should take his word for it, because we didn't reveal what is in his heart, if he really beliefs or disbelief.
However, we should use the term "Hypocrite", but also with great caution, so that people won't start calling each other.

he did not say he was a Sufi, but I really like how he kept positive and tried not to be offensive to the Sufis, he a brilliant man.

Sufism in Islam is special, it appeals to some but few. Don't expect the whole mass to embrace Sufism. A Sufi says if you are not interested just become ordinary Muslim.

This is the very first video that I watched from Dr Shabir Ally and I am amazed by the way he talked about a subject that he don't agree with. This is the real politeness and wisdom of a true Muslim.

At least this guy is open about sufism most conservative Muslims literally see sufis as madmen. I'm a Muslim myself but sufism has been leading me to a broader and deeper understanding of Allah.

sufism is often misunderstood by others because of the lack of knowledge. Sufism from the beginning was more personal than sociological, which is why less people came to know it and less people had it's knowledge. But it is infact a part of Islam, which has its own interpretation, philosophy and understanding of Quran and Sunnah.

What a shame that people condemn Dr. Shabir. He is simply giving his opinion. At least he is willing to engage in dialogue and have an open mind on these subjects.

There is no such thing as "Sufi is the real muslim"

I hate when people start saying 'Sunni Muslims are the real Muslims', or 'Shia Muslims are the real Muslims', etc...

With regard to Spirituality within itself, .. I don't think that it contradicts the Quran & the Sunnah by any means.

Muslims are required to observe both sides of the faith; the practical religion & the spiritual side.

If Muslims can keep their religious teachings and in the same time be spiritually aware, that'll be Great.

The philosophical approach to God in Sufism (theoretical gnosis) is rooted in Quran itself. Few examples:

And to Allah belongs the east and the west. So wherever you [might] turn, there is the Face of Allah. Indeed, Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing. (Q 2:115)

And We have already created man and know what his soul whispers to him, and We are closer to him than [his] jugular vein. (Q 50:16)

Why not Just follow our prophet (PBUH) and sunnah. It's that simple . There is no need to add or take away .

Who is your Lord ?
What is your religion ?
Who is your prophet ?
What is your book?

It's a complete way of life . Allah (SWT) made it easy for us . Alhamdu Lillah .

I heard Muhammad b. al-Husayn – may God have mercy on him – say: I heard Mansur b. ∏Abdallah say: I heard Abu ∏Ali al-Rudhbari say: “One sign of delusion is that God treats you well, although you commit sins. You then begin to forsake repentance and remorse as you fancy that [God] will pardon your transgressions and consider this to be God’s lenience toward you.” He said: “My teacher of Sufism was al-Junayd; my teacher of jurisprudence was Abu πl-∏Abbas b. Surayj, my teacher of polite literature was Tha and my teacher of prophetic reports was Ibrahim al-Harbi.
