$55K for that…just can’t wrap my head around it. Still suffering from sticker shock I guess

Even fanboys are very disapointed with the Tacoma.

The Tacoma looks like a Tundra but with better proportions.
I like the way it looks, but that's about it.

Can't take these trucks serious especially with a 4 cylinder, i don't care what power it makes its still not gonna last

Tim, I couldn't agree with you more.
$55k for a mid-grade truck but nobody can fit comfortably in the back seat. And I'm sorry but that screen definitely looks like it was attached to the dash with duct tape. Chevy and Ford did it much better.

FINALLY! You have said why people are not buying this thing. ITS THE PRICE! Yes, its absolutely better then the 3rd gen, but at those prices you are better off with a full size truck or an older diesel truck. I can get over the 4 cylinder, quality issues, unproven reliability, and the little room in the back seats. The one thing I cannot get over is the price. I rather go with a Colorado or Frontier. Maybe a full size or a used diesel truck. Toyota really screwed over the US consumers with how they priced them while building them in Mexico. Saving on labor and screwing the US consumers! Thank you for not actually buying one and trying to shove these trucks down your audience throats like most of the the youtubers.

Sometimes it seems they change things for the sake of change, no better function or durability. When did a motorized tailgate become something we need? Then the price. I’m sure Toyota won’t be hurt by my inability to afford one.

I have a very similarly configured (to yours) Blue 2024 Tacoma TRD Sport double cab. Cost me about 56k the way it's configured. I took possession of it June 6th. I do NOT consider myself a "famboi", but, I do also own a blue 2001 Tacoma SR5 double cab. It was originally red. My first Taco has been a wonderful truck. In fact, it is remaining in the family. I have no intentions of selling it. I bought the new Taco partly because of the wonderful experience I had with the old Taco, and partly because I wanted new toys to play with in the new version!

I am 6' 2" with a generally slim build (though I do have a tummy) and long legs. I have the 8 way power seats in my new truck so I have absolutely no problem adjusting it for comfort. I do not have my seat all the back as that makes the pedals too far away... Also, I don't drive with the seat leaning back but generally more upright.

I have found that there is sufficient room in the back for leg room. I have had 3 people in the back before (both big and tall) with no complaints.

I am still learning how to do everything in the new truck, but I expected this with all the new toys that it has. Is it a perfect truck? No… However, there is no such thing, I believe, as a perfect truck! Each vehicle is engineered and built with specifics uses/functions in mind. This is no different. Though certainly not perfect, Toyota Tacomas have a stellar reputation with most people that I know.

I am very happy with my new Taco!

I priced a full size F 250 2024 with STX and off road package straight cab 8 ft bed. Small godzilla 6.7? 10 spd, very nice 4x4 for 52, 000 dollars. Lot more truck than that.

I purchased a new 23 Taco SR5 for 37k. I felt like that price was okay for what I was buying. A solid, dependable small truck that has limited but nice amenities. Why pay 55k for this when you can get full size comfort and capabilities? Toyota along with all the other manufacturers are pricing themselves out of buyers ability to buy. They build it in Mexico with ultra cheap labor and demand higher and higher prices.

I like the GM twins better and they are priced better as well.

Wait, you don’t wanna buy a $33, 000 pick up truck for $60, 000 how dare you?

The full-size trucks are too big, while the mid-size trucks are too small. Is there anything in the middle that works besides the Ridgeline or the Riciam?

I went with a 2024 4Runner.
I hope to avoid the new platform until it proves itself over time.

You are not alone on the frustrations Tim. Simpler is better.

I have a new '24 Tacoma Off Road after owning 4 Tacomas since 2003. I drove my '21 TRD OR to the dealership because I wanted to test drive it myself. It's HANDS-DOWN better than my '21. I bought the '24 on the spot and after 3, 500 miles on highway and taking it into the dirt and rocks, I love it. It has power when you need it, no lag, the cabin is drastically more comfortable, the rear disc brakes actually make the truck responsive when coming to a quick stop rather than the old drums putting all the responsibility on the front end and last but not least...the transmission. I was so sick and tired of my 3rd and 2nd gens constantly hunting for gears, never making up it's damn mind. No more. Smooth as butter and finally feels how a transmission SHOULD work in the year 2024. As for the cabin comfort, the ergo's are vastly improved in both seating, positioning and comfort. Yes, the rear area is tight if you're over 5'8" and the driver is 6' tall...I find it laughable to hear complaints about 230lb. tall dudes complaining about the rear comfort....it's a mid-size truck what do you expect? Get a full-size if you're going to be hauling around Billy Bob and Jimmy in the backseat. The Ranger does have a tiny bit more room in the back, but the Ranger feels like a half-assed attempt by Ford to make a competitive mid-size and just feels bland, uninspiring and gives the impression that it will be at the dealership for repairs before you crack 5, 000 miles.

Funny side note, I almost went for the Colorado, but after test driving it for less than 3 miles there was rattles and squeaks from the dash AND the turn signal kept tripping all over itself...all on a truck that had 7 miles on it. No f'ing thanks. Looks cool though, but the day Chevy makes a reliable, well built truck without electrical glitches out the ass and shoddy build quality in the cabin...no thanks. The '24 Tacoma just FEELS solidly built, and not like a plastic piece of garbage.
