Slow & controlled eccentric and fast concentric.

The mind - muscle connection factor is very significant. When I was first starting out lifting and didn't really see any results I tried this super slow program which had me lifting in a 10-second concentric/5 second eccentric style. It was the first time that I ever saw any muscular development. I think it had everything to do with the mind muscle connection I developed and not so much the slow pace of lifting and its effect on the muscle. I never lifted in that super slow fashion ever again. But regardless of the style I use I'm able to make progress because that mind muscle connection has stayed with me.

What would happen if I do a fast push up after a slow push up? 🤔

Slow reps do not lead to better muscular hypertrophy. It's a well researched subject which I've covered

When I do calisthenics, I like to do the reps fast, if I do fitness, I like to do it slow 😉

Fast reps for sure. I’ve been doing slow reps for years and when I tried to get explosive pullup or dip it was impossible. I was doing street lifting so I thought that without weight plates I will fly… nope, that was a mistake. It took some time to get explosiveness, I even regressed with bands but was doing reps extremely fast and in 20-30 rep range.

I do both for example on compound lifts I do 2 sets..my first set 3 reps heavy and fast for power rest 5 mins max.. then lighten the weight I can do for 8 reps focus on tension 4 seconds on the eccentric explode on the concentric then once I reach faliure do rest pauses💪
