Making astronaut ice cream

For a while now I've been wanting to make some dry ice cream, and I'm gonna sacrifice an ice cream sandwich. The first step is to remove its skin, and then I have to freeze dry it.

They used to sell astronaut ice cream in little packages at the museum gift shop when I was a kid. For whatever reason I LOVED the texture/taste of it, so for my birthday every year my parents would get me a few of them. :D
