Omg could you imagine thinking you're menopausal but you're pregnant!? Two totally different lifetimes clashing together

My cousin experienced this.
She gained 5 lbs and that was it.
She went to the ER for extreme back pain.
When asked if she could leave, they told her no that she's about to give birth.
To which she was floored.

Except ONE difference.

She got her periods every single month.

Same thing happened with me. Senior year 2 days before I graduated I walked into the emergency room. My grandma and mom are both medical professionals. I woke up with the worst stomach pains and we all thought it aligned with appendicitis. Walked into the emergency room where my blood pressure hit 220/200. They rushed me back and did an ultrasound to see my appendix but there he was. A little baby boy. Took me into delivery and I delivered my son in 16 minuets. He was almost dead. I had flat lined 2 times, a stroke, and 2 siezures in 16 minuets. After 3 weeks in the Nicu my son came home. He just celebrated his 5th birthday.

I never believed a pregnant woman would not notice but then it happened to a friend of mine. A bit larger woman, taking birth control and with a history of stomach issues (cramps, committing, etcetera). Went to the doctor multiple times but was always sent away. Finally they said, okay, we will do an ultrasound. Oh, you are pregnant! About 6 months along, they said. She went home in shock, told her partner and her and his parents. That evening she went into labor and there was a baby girl of nine months! Girl is a healthy teenager now.

My cousin was in college with a full ride volleyball scholarship. She was on bc and during her competition season, it wasn't unusual for her to get sick from nerves and for her period to be wonky, especially on bc. She had the stereotypical athletic physique, perfect abs and a flat stomach, etc. She had to travel for the end of the season and, in the airport about the head home, 8 hours after a huge volleyball tournament, she collapses in the TSA line in serious pain. An agent took her to the bathroom and called an ambulance. Four hours later, she was a mother and her long term boyfriend proposed, over the phone while driving like hell to get to her. They're happily married now and their daughter is truly a mini of her mother.

I remember my mom screaming from the other room telling me she was watching something really scary. Turns out it was “I didn’t know I was pregnant”

That would be the best ER visit of my life. Leaving with a baby at 46 when I don’t have any kids would be a dream!!!

Had a patient brought in by ambulance after delivering at home because she didn’t know she was pregnant. In her 40s, she’d been trying to get pregnant for 15 or 20 years without success. Had a period every month. It was much lighter than usual, but she thought it was menopause. She was obese and didn’t gain any weight or change in size, but she did lose what waistline she had. She & husband just returned from a vacation in Mexico. She started having nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and severe cramps which they attributed to having been in Mexico. He took her to Urgent care where she received a shot of Demerol and Phenergan and felt better, so she was discharged. Later the pain became worse so they called for an ambulance. She had the baby while waiting for the ambulance. She and baby were fine when they got to the hospital, but her husband had a really hard time convincing their friends and family that they’d just had a baby.

I did this after my first born. I was stressed as a new mom and didn't think I could get pregnant again. I have pcos so light or no period is normal. Went in Christmas day for stomach flu like symptoms, found out I was 34 weeks pregnant. 2 days later I had my daughter. My babies were 10 months apart, I had nothing for a little girl but thank God I had a community who came with everything I needed. Cryptic baby is 6.

I worked in a high risk labor & delivery floor. WE had a 45 year old woman brought in with a newborn that she had in the toiloet. She & her husband could not conceive & she thought she was going through menopause. She never thought that she'd be pregnant. Both parents were in numb shock. The social worker was also in shock.

My niece in law had a cryptic pregnancy. 19 years old, never had gotten her period. She was told she’d never have children! Then finally she had gotten it. Had one every month! Gained a little weight! Then one night my great nephew came into this world! She was in shock! Took her a while to even accept the baby! Thank God my nephew was an excellent father!!!! Great nephew is now grown with a beautiful daughter!!! And a childhood friend also had a cryptic pregnancy after her first child!!! She had no idea!!! It happens more than we know!!!

This happened to my niece. She didn't know she was pregnant until about 30 mins before she delivered. We just thank God the baby was healthy and my niece had no complications.

I’ve seen photos of women who are 35 plus weeks pregnant with a flat stomach… they didn’t know they were pregnant. It’s wild.

This happened to my daughter’s friend. She had lost a lot of weight and just thought she was gaining it back. She also skipped periods so it wasn’t unusual. She thought she had a kidney stone. That “stone” is now a beautiful little six year old girl.

I had a cryptic pregnancy because of PCOS. Found out around 20 weeks. She was born a few weeks ago at 38 weeks - healthy and beautiful and as sweet as can be, 7 pounds 11 ounces.

This happened to me, I had been with my partner for 12 years no birth control I was in my late 40's n assumed I was menopausal because i only got my period every 4 to 5 months. I was almost 6 months before I started getting a tummy but it looked more like I was bloated n I already had gastrointestinal issues I didn't think anything of it. Fast forward to 9 months preggo n I just felt off n went to the hospital thinking I had something seriously wrong. The doctor does his normal tests but before we could even get to the urinalysis I told the doc I had a lot of pressure down there he had a looksie n my daughter's head was crowning. Ended up having a beautiful baby girl 6lbs 12 ounces.
