I always say that my guitar collection is a 401k you can play! Today I explain how I built a million dollar guitar collection and how you can, too.

I started collecting 15 years ago. Got a 1986 Gibson SG for $550 in a pawn shop. That started the hobby.

YAY! A new video!! Good to hear from you Benny. The guitars look fabulous - you're better than me in not getting attached to them. It's not emotional, just seems like every one I traded/sold I ended up wanting back. . KEEP ROCKIN' BENNY!!!

There’s serious genius here. I love the 401K analogy .

You definitely have one of the nicest collections I’ve seen. Love all those Prs’s and Gibsons. Please keep the videos coming featuring them.

Great words of wisdom and experience Sir Benny...we all need to realize and live within our limitations. I'm a small time collector of guitars and amps...for both my enjoyment now and as an investment and legacy that will be handed down to my son at the proper time. Love the channel!!

Great video Benny! Very well explained! You have a guitar collection that most players would die for. I'll be 70 in March and I thought I did a good job with 18 guitars in my collection. I believe my kids will benefit from my collection, lol. Keep showing us your collection. I for one want to see everything you got. Talk to you later Benny.

I can so relate to this way of thinking.

This is exactly my point its why i build up my collection the way i do every month is a new guitar no matter of price because 5 smalls equals 1 big anyone can do it at any budget i get to thoroughly enjoy i play my guitars every day from morning to night when people ask what i do with my spare time exactly this playing fixing or building

You’re one smart mother flipper — er, I mean guitar flipper! 😂😂😂 You had a lot of foresight and focus to start doing this years ago. I agree about the PRS thing too. People will start to find them desirable to collect as they become older being that nobody can afford a vintage Gibson. Same thing happened where people are starting to buy vintage Epiphones instead of vintage Gibson’s. People also want crappy Sears guitars from their childhood and pay big bucks for them. Yep, you started doing this just before the collecting boom happened, and you still know how to find a steal of a deal and the next great thing. Be proud you did this on a shoestring budget. It all started with one guitar!

Benny..Great thread. I'm 62 & my guitar collection is only 32 pieces. But that a accumulating since 1996. Crap, when Gibson quit making the ES-135'S AMS we're blowing them out for $799 with HSC! That was 2002..and I bought 4! I knew then a hollow body Gibson in just ten years would be worth double at least. I sold two of them to dude's in Europe for $2400 apiece. Still have two..mint! Recently had my father pass away & got a decent inheritance, in which I DID purchase a new C8 Corvette..but I own it! But still think of how much $'s I'd spent that if I used you're method..I'd have BANK! Key is what you said..take OUT the emotion & know the market....
