Thank you for this awesome post. This is saving my $100s! I followed your video and the system works perfectly. I am posting some of the hiccups I have alongs the way (especially for Jandy Control Boards)

1. Sonoff Pair Issue
-for some reason I had challenges pair the son off board with an iOS device
-the system pair nicely with my old Android phone

2. Jandy Control System: Terminal Bar Issue
-If you own a Jandy unit without a side remote, chances are that your board will NOT have the 6-Pin Terminal Bar to allow you to screw each wire to the pin.
-These bars range from $40 to over $100 online
-you can create your own using Pin Housing Connector kits that are found on amazon
-or use a female crimp pin connector that fits onto each pin

3. Jandy Control System: Programming Each Button
-If you have a Jandy OneTouch System, you can program each button through the following menu commands:
MENU/HELP-SYSTEM SETUP-SPA SWITCH-Select 1 (for the number of remotes)-Prgram what you want each button to do

Jason once again, thank you for this post!

This is awesome! I just stumbled on this vid as I was searching for a way to automate my pool from google assistant. Will be trying to take what you shared and make it work on a Hayward Goldline board this weekend, fingers crossed!

This is a really elegant and cost effective solution. The only oddity is you have to tell Alexa to turn "on" the pool device if you want it on or off. It doesn't appear to know if the device is already on/off. Seems like that is a wiring issue.

Great info, well done. Appreciate the updates from your last video. I am check on a relay that can be ethernet connected. But the Wifi is a great solution for this use case with very little data traffic. If you have a wired 4ch with inching that would work please share. I'll integrate with open, home assistant on-prem home automation solution. Have you seen any power options to power-blink the lights at different cycles to memic the easytouch light control, for color? I have a couple easy touches and one has the pool light on a direct switch. So it misses out on the Easytouch light control, which I believe just cycles the relay/power x # of times depending on what mode it wants the light in.

Wow -- thx so much for the fantastic pool equipment videos. We have a Jandy Aqualink RS system and inside the house mounted on the wall there's a Jandy RS remote which is hardwired to the main controller outside. Considering the Jandy remote has full pool control, could I connect this Sonoff box directly to the remote where it would essentially "piggyback" the Jandy RS remote and give me WiFi access?

Awesome, thank you. I have a question - I want to use power NOT from the pentair board as I already have a spa side remote (the IS10) and don't want to put too much of a draw on the board. I don't know much about the relays, so here's my question. Does it only use the power supplied to the relay for the purpose of kicking on the relay and keeping the wifi alive or... does it also pass through the power in any way to the low spa side contacts? i.e. do I care what voltage / amp I'm supplying to the unit, or is that shielded entirely from the contacts that it is connecting? I hope that makes sense - don't want to fry anything!

This is great, can you give which wire to tap into on the hayward oncommand? Thanks

Great video! So, I have the Jandy RS8 (8 switches), if I wanted to replicate this is it as simple as buying two of the Sonoff 4CH Pros and wiring one up for the first 4 and the other for the second 4?

Thanks for the quick response, great video. The pentair spa side controls seem to support ten buttons. Do you know how that is implemented, could we have more than one 4ch device to make eight options? I know the com port system can support many things, like heating, just not sure how it communicates to go over four buttons? Thanks

Definitely worth subscribing. My pool+spa set up is with manual jandys right now. I don't want to buy the Pentair panel. I d like to add two valve actuators. Is there a work around buying the Pentair intellitouch ?

I saw in your description that you used this on a pentair system. But you implied that your not sure about others. Then in your video you say you can use this in other systems. So can you use this on a jandy system? Great video by the way. Hope you have more maybe do one on a different system like jandy would be nice.

So is there an inexpensive way around having to buy the expensive Pentair Easy Touch panel to do the intermediary between high voltage and the low voltage Sonoff dealio?

Jason, I've watched a lot of videos of blokes trying to show how to do stuff. Yours is exceptional, you cover all the bases. I do have a couple of questions: Is there any programing of the EZTouch system itself? Does one simply remove the EZTouch hardware devices (the WIFI and the Interface)? Rgds, Ken Wood in Camarillo.

Can this control automated valves? I'm looking for an option where I can say "Turn Spa On" and it will automatically change the valves over, start the pump, and start the heater. Then when I say "Turn Spa Off" it will change everything back to pool mode. I wonder if this would get me close if I just wire the heater and pump into the "spa" part of the board.

Hi, I have a Compool cp2000 + lx-10. Old but working. I just watched your video and connected a sonoff switch to the spa side remote. Works great except I can’t seem to control the heater. Doesn’t kick on automatically when “spa” mode is selected (only the valves turn). Any ideas? Thanks again— great video!

Have you seen where the pentair automation shuts off the is4 in the settings menu? I did t use the sonoff, but used a 4 channel rf controller and it is randomly turning off the main spa side option in the settings?

My problem is - I’m trying to accomplish this(Turn Single Speed Hayward Pump on, then turn on pentair gas heater, potentially pool lights, no valves), but I don’t have an Easytouch panel.

Currently pump is controlled via mechanical timer. Gas heater through the on device control buttons.

I’m trying to figure out how to get it to all work on the 4CH.

I think I can directly hook into the foreman switch for the gas heater. However I’m a little stuck for my Hayward Superpump. Would I need a contactor?

This is pretty cool. I would like to setup similar automations on mine. Please keep updated on any improvisations and options you add to these in future. sub'd.

Any advice on starting a Pentair Superflo VST pump. I gave it a shot on connecting the $57.00 pentair cable to R1 to remotely start in Quick Clean Mode but no luck. Im in inching mode at 1s. I'm wondering if I need to increase the seconds or should I go into self locking mode.

I have an Jandy AquaLink RS that the board is bad and I want to bypass the entire system. Wondering if I can I can connect the red and black wires coming from the relays that used to plug into the Aqualink control board - cut off the plastic connectors and plug the wires directly to the Sonoff?
