I feel like if you have the goal in mind to succeed in trucking, it’s better to get in when equipment prices are low. Get experience running the business, building up a network of contacts and resources. When the market picks up, you’ll be in position to take advantage. This is what I did, just my 2 cents.

I looked at flatbed loads outa vegas 500 miles paid 3.00.
Long hauls offered around a $1.80, this bad to me. No matter you costs.
