The allowing children to arm themselves for self defense joke was spot on.

Anyone else getting tired of the greatest cities in America, and the world, as well as cultural centers degrade into hellholes people can't get away from fast enough?

"Receiving a bribe as a public official"

Can't imagine why public officials decided to let that one slide...

I got a bloomberg ad before this video that said he'll "keep government out of your private decisions"

like a person's private decision to buy a large soda from McDonald's?

These guidelines are a win for criminals. Victims lose and wrong doers get way “Scott free”. The lesson I’m taking away from this, lack of, law is be very guarded and vigilant. The system isn’t going to protect your rights or save/help you.

Just a fun fact. I’m from New York as well and I work as a court officer in manhattan criminal court on Centre street

In addition to all the crimes mentioned above that are not bail eligible, there’s another one that no one knows about

If you commit a robbery (in New York it’s considered robbery in the 3rd) where u assault or strike the victim and remove their property - if the complainant witness RMAs (refuses medical attention) on the spot - it is actually not considered a violent crime because technically it didn’t result in injuries causing the person to get medical attention

So they are released immediately during the arraignment back to the streets to commit more crimes

Good ol’ leftist policies

I’ve always wanted to know, what type of criminal justice did you study? The way you approach legal/criminal issues in your videos has always been fair. You would make a great cop or some type of criminal justice official. Keep up the good work.

This new bail reform is disgusting. Someone I know was sexually harassed on the train a few weeks ago. The dude was groping himself and threatening to do things to her until she was finally able to run away at the next stop. I know who the guy is because she took a picture of him to report him and he lives in the same neighborhood i work in. He ended up turning himself in when word got out of what he did. Literally the next day, we saw him walking around like nothing happened and theres nothing we can do about it. Theyre turning nyc into the old nyc i grew up in that nobody wanted then and nobody is going to want when it comes back

Kind of sounds like the premise of a movie. Possibly one staring Kurt Russell.

The best reform of crime laws would make fewer actions criminal.

With or without cash bail. Can we keep dangerous people locked up?? Isn't that the point the jail. To keep innocent people safe. How do judges sleep at night allowing criminals back on the street that end up harming or killing another person??

Bro when this went into effect my area had three police chases in one week. And one of the chases involved a stolen vehicle. Every one of them walked away with an appearance ticket.

Parole can be so suffocating (and probably justly so) I've known people who preferred to take 6 months jail time over 3 years parole.

My cousin was also out on parole, and it's nearly IMPOSSIBLE to hold a job while on parole, yet having employment is MANDATORY to remain out on parole. Yet you have to check in with a parole officer at least once a week to start, then twice a month.

But also, you have to go for drug and alcohol testing TWICE A WEEK, even if your offense wasn't drug related. For the entire duration. They allow you one slip up, whether it's missing the drug test or failing it. And those can only happen during court hours; aka typical work hours.

It really feels like parole sets people up for failure. And if you fail near the end of your parole, you do all the jail time you were initially eligible for.

If people who take and disseminate lude photos of children aren’t considered a danger to the public then no one is. Preying on children is arguably the most horrific thing someone can do. I’d sooner sign off on an accused murderer being released without bail than a pedophile. Especially when considering the disgusting trend of normalizing pedophilic behavior from the fringes of society today. I’m of the belief that we need to keep that behavior in the despicable column of human behavior.
