I've found that weighing coins actually helps very little, or just not enough of the time to make a difference. Too many variables, and coins rarely weigh exactly what they should even out of the mint, so I'm searching for better ways than weighing. Nickels are really tough, but quarters, dimes etc, they all have reeded edges with copper lines- post 1965 that is. So I check edges before using the scale, bc I found that I actually identify more irregular coins by looking at edges than I do weighing. Most wrong planchet/ improper alloy mixtures (IAMs) in my collection were found in this manner, and most weigh within the acceptable range for the coin. We need someone to invent the ultimate & affordable metal tester that doesn't ruin coins

I have two interesting nickels. A 1969 S with countable steps in what I would say really good condition and a 2015 P that has this rainbow like metallic color to it both very nice looking coins and would like to know more about them.

A few months ago I was watching a video on Henning Nickels and a friend of mine sent Me 300+ Nickels from Oklahoma after the video I thought to myself I'm gonna go through these Nickels and the 2nd Nickel I looked at was a 1939 Philadelphia Nickel and I looked at the R in EPU and it matched what I saw on the video I watched. I sold that Nickel for $475.00 bucks to the Author of Mint Errors to Die For!!!!

Recently started sorting through a coin collection and found a 1962 Jefferson nickel that appears to be rusting in the area around Jeffersons head. Nothing on reverse but interesting since it was marked "Proof: when I purchased it years ago. Any ideas?

I found the Buffalo head nickel with no date and it looks like it was in circulation and really worn but it's part of the due strike mistake, I found it dumpster diving when a bar shut down and owner was 'cleaning' out tavern for resale!

I have a 1948 P that weighs 4.66 grams and the reverse kinda looks like a capped die or something is going on with the lamination. Great Video. Thanks

I have a couple of Jefferson Nickles with Lamination Issues, from the 2000's If I remember Correctly. I received them as change, always have gone thru my change to see what's there.
I can take a couple of pics, if you might be able to help me decide if Grading by PCGS would be worth it. I think so but, second opinions from one more Knowledgeable is a Good Practice I Believe.

I would have to pull it out to be specific but, I have a older nickel that is missing 2 letters in Monticello and appears to be very thin. When I get it out, I am going to weigh it for sure, as that is something I didn’t do in the past. I have wanted to send it in. Hopefully I will now that I am getting back into collecting.

I have some coins that may be of value, so I wonder if you can tell me where I can purchase a magnification lens to see them with clarity. I have a 1943 Nicole with the P above Monticello and I also have a 1977 quarter with silver in it. Are those 2 coins of any value? I also have some error coins and a cheerios dollar. Can you offer any advice or suggestions on these coins? The word Nickle is misspelled above, spell checker error.
