I just lost my boy 2 months ago. He died in my arms. Every time I come home it hurts because he isn’t there to greet me anymore. No matter what kind of day I had I got happy knowing as I walked up to the door that he would be there to greet me. Now I’m sad because he isn’t there anymore. I do still talk to him as if he is still with me.

I lost my cat recently and this resonated to me, in that I also still have this reflexes of when she was here, and then the realization hits that she's gone and it hurts so much. I wish my cat was at the groomer.

We had to make a weekend trip where my GSD Lily wasn’t able to come. My wife had a giggle at my reaction. I paced the hotel room. Had that “longing in my eyes” (she said) when I saw other dogs.
But when I got home, oh man the slobber and the physical “happy assault” and the zoomies. I still hated those two days
