I was messing around with the new @NeuralDSP Tim Henson Archetype plugin and was enjoying some of the tones and the vibe of the thing. Naturally, I think the question for regular viewers of the channel might be - can you do that with a Line 6 Helix? So here's trying to get in that ballpark, WITHOUT using the same cabs, as I figured that would make it even more challenging...

The internet knows that Polyphia use an Axe FX typically and that the go to preset involves a Matchless DC30 model. Logically then, it might be safe to assume that the White amp model is most likely either Matchless DC30 inspired, or (given that the Quad Cortex doesn't have Matchless models) that they are using Vox AC30 and AC30 Top Boost inspired models?

The Purple amp is capable of higher gain tones than the White amp, and the Placater Dirty (or Friedman BE 100) seems to be doing a similar type of thing - experiment with the C45 and HBE options!

Using the "Polyphia2PoolBoy" preset and "Polyphia Vocoder".

Sounds really close, the Poly Pitch sounds way clearer / cleaner. I reckon you could use midi to change adjust all parameters. Meshuggah uses midi to control their entire set. there was a video on youtube with a chap using midi to control every parameter of the then-new -Pod HD 500X, I can't do that, but then again I barely tie my shoelaces and they're velcro. :-) Awesome ears and tweaking John. In a Mix / Live setting only the nerdiest of nerds whose girlfriend is a pillow - might be able to tell and in actuality would still get it wrong. Keep up the good work man!

9:57—In Neural DSP’s defense regarding multi-voice tracking, they do point out in the manual that this effect expects sing;e-note inputs. Until I read this, I had a similar complaint (i.e., something didn’t sound right when playing two or more notes at a time). I do agree that, in addition to this limitation, the Helix seems to track better in general, single notes or otherwise. I’m hoping NDSP improves their algorithm with point releases.

Hello John, I am having a hard time trying to figure what I need to buy to use amp software. Many years ago in a desktop, I use a audiophile PCI card and the latency was very low and never bothered me. Move to today I have a usb interface and it’s not up to the job(m audio ) I tried a 2i2 with better results but wonder how your HX stomp is when using as a interface? That might sound silly anyway seeing that the sounds in HX are just as good why bother!? I really enjoy your channel and am really thinking it may be a better choice to go HXStomp. Take care. I think NeuralDSP has more amp sims modeled after the Friedman BE-100 than the 5150s.
