TO ANSWER CLEARLY: Patti LaBelle is the mother of voice. It’s unbelievable what this woman can do. She is historic! This silly debate about whether it was a Bb5 or a B♭6 is COMPLETE NONSENSE. THE WOMAN IS 80 YEARS OLD AND SHE’S DOING SOMETHING MIRACULOUS with her voice. BOTH are extreme notes. Mixed voice usually goes up to F5, G5, or at most A5, depending on the singer. Whether it’s whistle or not doesn’t matter—if she didn’t sing this in whistle, that just makes her even more extraordinary! Besides that, the power and projection of it are glorious—unbelievable, to be exact. This sounded WAY MORE powerful than a whistle! It’s no wonder she’s the Godmother of Soul, the greatest living voice, and Mariah’s own musical godmother. What she does with her voice is DIVINE.
