*Great **Generater.Systems** . Our 1st 2500W Champion backed us up with hurricane Ida last August when our whole home generator crapped out after 8 days. Love the dual fuel. Hope to never run gasoline in it.Bought this 2500W to parallel with our other one for the RV.*

I have this exact generator. I just flipped the original plug so the weight of the cord tried to tighten the connection vs. loosen it. I have thought about doing what you did but I wasn't sure if I would have to make the hole bigger or not. You answered that question. Good video!!

Just completed the same mod. I just couldn't get over using the adapter. It took about 2hrs but, I am happy with the results and now I can just plug in my travel trailer and not worry about the stupid adapter and the stress it puts on the plug. It is a real easy job. just take your time and be careful. It looks like it belongs and I challenge anyone with an untrained eye to notice it..

Thanks! I pretty much figured out the wiring to do this mod, but didn't know I have to grind the opening out. No big deal. When working on electrical connections I usually just take a picture of the original wiring with my cell phone.

L5-30p and 50ft sj cord 3 wire 10ga. Available at Home Depot cost about $95.00 . No hassle, no need to void warranty. I enjoyed the video very informative. Thanks

Great video showing the internal board. But! Void warranty and big ass hole for larger diameter plug?? Hey I agree it's awkward having the cord pointing up with gravity trying to pulling it down to disconnect.. I opened it up and just turned the original plug 180 degrees and voila! All better now! No mess, fuss or mods no voided warranty that anyone could tell.

The reason for the twist-lock receptacle is due to vibration of the unit. Just be sure to check your plug occasionally to make sure it is not working out. Nice mod!

How about just flipping the original plug 180 degrees so when you plug the adapter the weight will actually tighten the connection? No drilling/cutting or rewiring, just taking off a couple of nuts and spinning the port. Might not even void the warranty as you could easily flip it back before getting service.

Nice job. The solution to most complaints of this type generator.

I’d just loop the RV cord out of the adapter up and along the silver carry handle. Then I’d use a heavy duty Velcro cable/ cord wrap to attach the cord to run along the handle. A wire tie or just a section of scrap solid wire would also work. Tying the cord along the handle would take the weight off the cord and the adapter and prevent it from falling out. No warranty issues, no taking anything apart, no cutting, no muss no fuss.

FYI EVERYONE WHO HAS HARD TIME RESTARTING THE PREDATOR 3500 WHEN ITS HOT OUTSIDE... All you have to do is remove the gas cap and it will start right up. Just needs to vent. Somehow it took me almost two summers to finally figure this out lol. . ALSO Jesus Christ delivered me from meth, adderall prescription, alcoholism, cigs etc in Sept 2014. No rehab or any other outside help! Just the Lord and His Word!! Eternal life in Jesus Christ alone. Make sure you seek and abide in Him!

After all that, I would of liked to see you plug in the RV plug to see how nice it fit.
Thanks for sharing.

Good stuff.  I've seen a few vids where they just flip the outlet 180 degrees, but I prefer this solution.

Slim, QUIET, works great. I wanted modern and out of the way. This is it!

I know this is old but the angle you get using original plug and adapter is just right to wrap around the handle. Keeps it from getting yanked out of gen..good info though highly agree changing it out is the way to go

Nice video but an easier fix is just rotate factory plug and your done. I did mine and it works great 👍

Thanks for good Mod that should be standard on generators. If you have a circular bit just bigger than round plug size, you can bolt down a temp solid plate of metal, plastic or wood. Then the center drill bit has something to hit. It makes a cleaner and relatively easier mod then Grinding IMOP. And you can cut down with tin snipes the back plate edges a bit for clearance.
