I can see the differences between the two, the new version sounds like it's an actual fight for survival

man i remember thinking the v3 version of defeat was an absolute banger. hearing this comparison makes it sound so underwhelming now

In terms of quality it has had a tremendous glow up but in terms of difficulty it got a bit downgraded. Though honestly it was a very needed change as it makes it actually enjoyable.

Differences:
Sprites:
Black, V3 (and V4, technically) - Black holds his knife backward (the blade faces away from BF, not towards him), and he carries a regular microphone. Also, his knife is less bloody, and his visor is the typical one you'd see on every other crewmate.
Black, V4 - His visor is now rectangular, and he now carries a red mic. In his down pose, you can see Gray's dead father.
BF, V3 (and V4, I guess) - just regular boyfriend, nothing to see here
BF, V4 - Starts off cautious (keeping at least one eye open in every pose), and then becomes scared when the drop hits. He's practically screaming in all of his poses by this point.
Visuals:
V3 (and V4, because of the flashback) - The Among Us defeat screen. Nothing too special.
V4 - Starts off with the Among Us defeat screen, and when the drop hits, piles of dead bodies (mostly skeletons) appear (you can also see BF's dead body on the right side of the stage among the skeletons).
The song itself:
V3 - For a song made in 1 hour (apparently), it's not bad. Black's vocals are just the dead body pizzicato, but bitcrushed slightly.
V4 - A huge revamp. Black now sounds a lot more distinct from the other opponents you face throughout Story Mode.
Mechanics:
V3 - One miss, and it's over. Instantly.
V4 - Pick how many times you can miss before you die, with 5 maximum (in the V4 trailer, it said 8 maximum).
Miscellaneous:
V4 - Has a callback to V3 at around 1:28.
Although they aren't shown here, I'm putting in the death screens anyway:
V3 - Black stares at the screen briefly before stabbing BF in the head. There's also a small chance for *something else* to happen. Let's just say it hurts. *_A lot._*
V4 - Black does the same thing but throws his mic on the ground and swings his knife at BF instead, also aiming for the head.

This really shows the amount of work they had done for this mod. 2 years of going crazy

New version sounds like a UTAU cover due to black’s vocals or bf’s at the beginning (or not), meanwhile the old/og sounds weird like as you’re fighting someone in a black void while you’re in first person.

Even the v3 song is more nostalgic, the new one is very Better, but i like the old black design, it's kinda more like the original game, maybe, make a remake of the old design would be good

Weird opinion, Old version sounds better for vocal and is also better for charting. But i will give brownie points to the newer version for visuals. But then again thats just my opinion

Wait why is my v4 impostor chart way harder than the v4 used here
