The absolute reason that this 20+ year war was lost, is 110% because of the MASSIVE CORRUPTION within Afghanistan - At the local level - Police/ANA - leaders/officers lied/inflated troop numbers etc, and skimmed off the salaries of all their troops. Just being an Afghan wanting to become an Officer - cost thousands to be bribed just to get to go to the Military Academy. Soldiers were not paid for months and months. At least 60% of the equipment that ISAF gave to ANA and Police etc was sold on black market or sold to Taliban. Especially Fuel was sold off to whoever.... 99.9% of the Afghan Government was corrupt - I mean CORRUPT AS CORRUPT- they colluded with Taliban, AQ, and the Warlords and Drug Lords. They served themselves, friends and families on such a massive scale, that I am bewildered that the US did nothing, however I know they turned a blind eye, because all that money going to the Military Industrial Complex was in the trillions, so who cares right?!. Afghanistan has and is one of the number one most corrupt countries in the world

Afghan elite wants foreign forces to stay in there so they can make more dollars..during last 2 decades Karzai and Ghani failed to generate revenue to run the economy infact their 80% expenses were financed through US EU donations... Taliban represents rural ppl who are the victim of warlords atrocities and represents rural Afghans so they gathered unprecedented support and will do exactly opposite to what we have seen in last 2 decades. Over 16m Afghans are daily wagers 2lac Afghans are drug addicts infant mortality rate is highest in the world they have drought this year etc . . Time to support taliban to prevent humanitarian crises...
