He Tried to Scam Me… I Got His Whole Call Center Raided

how did someone fail miserably at trying to outsmart you a scammer called claiming to be from Microsoft support saying my computer was sending error signals i immediately knew it was a scam but instead of hanging up I decided to play along this guy had the audacity to tell me my computer was infected with dangerous viruses and he needed remote access to fix it i put on my best confused elderly voice and pretended to follow his instructions while actually opening a blank Notepad document oh my I see all these error codes what do they mean i gasped making stuff up as I went along the scammer got excited thinking he had me hooked meanwhile I was using my phone to record the call and gather information he was getting impatient after about 45 minutes of me struggling to follow his instructions sir please hurry the viruses are spreading he said frantically at the hour mark I switched to my normal voice and said "So I've been tracing this call using software for my actual job at cyber security i've got your location and call center details the local authorities in your area have been notified." There was dead silence for about 5 seconds before he started cursing then I heard him yelling at someone else shut it down shut everything down before the line went dead 2 weeks later I got a notification that his call center had been raided based partly on information I provided the best part he tried calling back from a different number to threaten me not realizing I was recording that too

Those types of centers can usually get away with it because law enforcement is in on it
