Oh man, this is right on the line between total genius and pure novelty, great medley as well!

This is a close competition between the ehx key9 and this.

Upset that he didn't play Tristram theme with that last sound.

Can you even imagine this thing in a duet with a ROLI seaboard??

On a serious note, I'm a guitar player that's currently ampless. I recently moved and can't really have a proper amp because their size and especially volume.

tl;dr looking for amplifier pedal or one of those portable amp heads eg. Orange Micro terror, or pihrana 6505.

Need opinion for most practibility and lush tone. Thanks

I had the original gk55 system and spent £300 having a pickup installed internally with controls on bass years ago after watching lots of YouTube vids claiming zero latency and it was a glitchy horrible mess no matter how it was dialled in. I hope they improved the system on this pedal or a lot of people will be seriously disappointed

Note to self: The next time I need to do a cheesy 80's medley at a NAMM show, i'll get one of these. The specs/features are impressive but it still sounds cheesy. In defense of audio trackers, I do have a MEL9, but the mellotron was already a sample player. So the MEL9 does sound like a mellotron. To the rest of the "9's" I say "NEIN!". If you already are going to have a pre-setup ableton live or looper station backing track playing, why would you not include the synth riffs and be done with it? Gioli&Assia have the right idea: live remix over top of a DJ deck and play your guitar or cello or handpan OR even a proper keyboard, like it was supposed to be played.
(to be fair, I think guitar parts on keyboards are also cheesy for the most part)

It might be technically impressive but I'm not a fan musically. Thought I recognised some 80's casio tones in there! I might have more interest if it didn't sound like a guitar trying to be a keyboard to me. It has to find its own voice or it's just a gimmick.

Just wish I could pay for one of these while still retaining both my kidneys.

The SY-1000 is so damn good. If only it wasn't so damn expensive.

holy fuck this looks like something I could dive into for months. I would love to check out how all of this is working, the programming and engineering must be mental.

As long as we are on this digital pedal topic, I have been pondering another aspect of pedals that maybe we could get your insight on. Originally, pedals were analog extensions of the guitar analog. They boosted and twisted the guitar sound from analog circuit to analog circuit. each one adding to the noise and distorting the original guitar signal a bit more through each circuit. Now we have new pedals that do an A/D conversion, then modify the digital signal in the silent digital world, then do a D/A conversion back to analog. A/D->D/A and that chunk of analog cable between pedals adds distortion and noise. IF the entire signal chain stayed digital after the first A/D conversion, the entire pedal chain would stay silent, and then one D/A conversion happens at the end, minimizing the analog path. I got thinking about this after seeing someone's video with a string of Strymon pedals. There were like 5 sets of A/D->D/A conversions and 5 intermediate analog signal connections between the pedals. Now every pedal mfr is making digital pedals. Have you heard any inside buzz (like from NAMM or your associations) on the idea of a digital standard for pedal makers to enable digital chaining of pedals (like SPD/IF) I used to have a soundcard that I could just plug in my roland HD recorder digital outs. It was dead silent and very clean. It used standard RCA cables.
