LIVE: Bangladesh-Thailand Take a Step Forward in Diplomatic Relations | PM Sheikh Hasina in Bangkok
Bangladesh's Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina made an official state visit to Thailand today (April 26, 2024). She recieved a national Guard of Honour, and met with Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin. During a joint signing ceremony with PM Thavisin, Sheikh Hasin called her visits a "milestone in the Bangladesh-Thailand ties." Furthermore, PM Hasina urged PM Thavisin to make more investment in projects that are associated with Bangladesh, while inviting Thai investors to Dhaka for business. This visit comes as tensions with Myanmar remain for Thailand, and it combats the challenge of taking in several Myanmar nationals fleeing a raging civil war.
