It seems to be a horsehair or gordian worm. The adult worms are aquatic and lay eggs in the water. There, the larva become enclosed into cysts which are eaten by an insect, commonly a cricket or a cockroach. The larva will drive the host to water when they become adults so they can release themselves into the water.
