Heavy weight for beads often means glass instead of plastic. But with older clasp, even plastic has value.

Clues to look for: what cord, wire, or chain is used to sting beads and what fastenings are used. Tells you age is modern to find wire, silky cord with knots tied in tween beads (real pearls or gems stones, keep beads from damaging its neighbor). Finding thin thin chain is early piece, usually heavy gemstones to keep stones from wearing thru cord).

Long necklaces are “in” now. If you do not use your grandmother’s jewellery you could display it in a shadow box. Then you could see it every day. I did this with my mums pins and they look great hanging on the wall.🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜🍁🍂✨

If you can't sell the jewelry, please consider donating to a nursing facility. They use this kind of things for bingo prizes. The ladies go crazy for this kind of things. May be able to get a tax write off.

If that Cameo is on Copper metal the felt would stop your neck from turning green. Also the dream catcher are earrings the wires are tucked into the other side. Gently pull them apart.

Black ring is silver, look for the mark. Just the tarnished color on shank says silver. Style and weight says sterling silver.

So glad you decided to do this...I've been wondering about the jewelry! While it may not be real gold or of high monetary value, many of the pieces do look like well made quality pieces. What a wonderful idea Patti Legg has...I can imagine the pleasure it might bring to someone winning!
