Hey Space Invaders! In this video, I talk about how I use coding as an Astronomy graduate student.

Check out the links below for information on getting started with python coding!

Where to learn Python:

Well said! In regards to the packages used, I think you might find it interesting to know (if you don't already) that most of NumPy is written in C, which is why it so efficiently and quickly processes data relative to the same algorithms performed entirely in python. To my knowledge, it "passes off" the data to C.

Hey an example of using these packages especially while solving/going through a practical astronomy problem would be super nice to see!

Thanks for the informative video! I'm a bachelor's student of space science (majoring in astronomy and astrophysics and minoring in astronautics and orbital mechanics). You always make great content, keep it up!

Such a good explanation, I am a backend engineer and the way you explained it was soo good even tho CS is not your major (I guess😅😅?). Subbed and keep them coming.😀

Though you sound a bit monotone and in a reading-off-a-script mode, you did do quality informative work.

Suggestion : life in the day of a grad-astrophysics studente? How much time/day do you actualy spend using these packages? Is it more a game of waiting for the computer to run through the data? What do you do in classes? How do you support yourself? How creative or how shut-up-and-calculate is your work?

Can't wait to see you channel grow!

I like more C++ and Mathematica. I did my PhD in Theoretische Kosmologie at München. Great Explanation!

Very interesting video. I recently graduated as chemical engineer and I've used Python a lot to do dynamic simulations, now I'm kinda starting to migrate to Julia. I would definitely enjoy watching a video where you show us you using Python. Thanks for the good video and keep it up!
