The first batch of VF8 cars sold in the US had some software errors, but they have been updated, and the new battery has been upgraded for a range of about 420km. Currently, VF8 cars are very stable, and they have many models, A, B, C, D for customers to choose from.

Correction: in my 2022 MY you can control fan speed, volume, track changes, voice commands, & cruise control without taking your eyes off the road using physical controls. As for blind spot checks, when you signal to change lanes, also something you can do from physical controls, it brings up a blind spot view camera which shows the entire blind spot. I agree with Alex that media give a pass to NA and European makers while bashing the new kid on the block. I have a Model Y and love it. Even Ok with the FSD while I am paying for their development. So from that perspective, I am also a reservation holder of a VF8. Knowing that I may need several trips to the service center.

My decision on any make/model is very dependent on resale/residual value, reliability plus TOC during the period of ownership/lease. Hope VinFast will be one of those brands that is good for the average consumer who simply needs to go from point A to B.

What I like very much and I think EVERY real BEV should have it, is to get out the power from the battery for external use. I am driving the Kia EV6 and using the 230V AC power supply minimum 3 times a week. Does Vinfast cars have this option? In future I hope all cars has a V2Home or V2Grid function. I would never buy a car without even one (better two) 230V AC power supply in the car, or a V2device adapter. Sorry Tesla and other brands, but a REAL BEV MUST give his big energy to other usecases than only driving.

I look forward to an update after you have driven this VF8 for a week to a month. Doing a short test drive is very hard to get a real feel for a car.

The 10 yr warranty bumper to bumper is by far the best way to get customers to take a chance on a new brand in this market but, subscription service to use your CarPlay or Android Auto will be a big mistake.

All the features you mentioned in vinfast can be found in the kia ev6...which also gives you a 10 yr warranty...for vinfast to even make a dent in the u.s. or anywhere else in the world their car better be reliable and A LOT cheaper than the rest....if they sold them for $25k then they might have a chance.😄

Access to servicing is my primary criteria in purchasing an EV. What good is a 10 year warranty for only one state coverage.
