Here's the thing. My goal for the year is to make a huge dent in my yarn stash. I don't plan on buying any yarn unless I run out of something for a project or I really don't have something I can use. I have a lot of yarn earmarked for projects, they have all gone on hold because I am wanting to make my own clothes. My endocrinologist decided I needed to go on one of the diabetes weight loss drugs. I've lost 70 lbs and have two skirts to frog because I started them before I went on this medication. No point in working any of these projects since they won't fit more than a month. Anyway, I bought yarn yesterday that I don't know what I am going to do with yet. My thought was "If I buy it before the end of the year, that means it goes into the stash to find a use for and it's less yarn I will buy in 2025." In short, in my brain, you're off the hook for it.

If you bought and paid for it in 2024, then it shouldn't count towards 2025's budget. Last year I had a goal to make as many amigurumi toys as possible to donate to charity, and I achieved that goal. I'm thinking my crochet goals for 2025 are to continue with amigurumi for charity but add baby blankets to that. I love to make toys and give them away. I'm old and don't need anything for myself crochet-wise except for some amigurumi just for fun. My granddaughter likes to play school and uses the toys as students. I enjoy watching her do that. Yes me too my goals for 2025 is to finish my wips til I start new which is going to be a bathing suit cover up for my daughter with cotton yarn. I definitely want to eventually learn knitting so I can too knit and crochet, I tried knitting and made a garter stitch scarf. I really like the look of knitted hats over crochet hats so that my motivation to knit

I tend to use my good yarns for knitting and cheaper yarns for crocheting too. But I think that is because I tend to knit garments and want the correct drape and softness, but I tend to crochet non garment items like blankets, or toys. When I crochet a garment though, I do use my good yarn.

I tend to knit with wools and natural fibers and more often crochet with acrylic yarn. I never really thought about it 🤔 😂

Hi, no way does any yarn bought in December count same as my last chinese takeaway doesn't count as I bought it on the 31st and am having leftovers today 😉 Also my order from lion Brand doesn't count as it was purchased on the 27th it was 40% off that is my excuse and I am sticking to it 🤣

I have almost only acrylic yarn. But I am trying to use it up and replace it with more natural yarns. Because I want to make more wearables and acrylic is South Florida is just a no for me. I don't even wear a lot of polyester.
