Figuring out how to create an EFFECTIVE language learning routine took me a while, but after studying about 2-3 languages (one of which I taught myself) and watching a TON of other videos from polyglots on how to learn languages, here's what I believe are the key aspects of a useful study plan. These are the actual things that I take into consideration to create a study routine that works for me.

This is less of a video about the actual process of creating a routine (which is super important, as I stressed that consistency is a key part to learning a language well) -- it's more about the CONTENT of what you learn / how to structure your studying. Hope this helps!

I can speak 15 languages now including Chinese English Malay Korean Japanese Spanish French Italian Portugese German Latin Greek Dutch Swedish and Finnish...languages are all connected to each other...this is actually called second language acquisition...there are 5 hypothesis
the
the Monitor hypothesis
the Input hypothesis
the Affective Filter hypothesis
the Natural Order hypothesis

is the most fundamental of the five hypotheses in Krashen's theory and the most widely known among linguists and language teachers. According to Krashen there are two independent systems of foreign language performance: 'the acquired system' and 'the learned system'. The 'acquired system' or 'acquisition' is the product of a subconscious process very similar to the process children undergo when they acquire their first language. It requires meaningful interaction in the target language - natural communication - in which speakers are concentrated not in the form of their utterances, but in the communicative act.

Hope this helps for those who's learning a second language~

Just a 13 year old here, after attempting many times to learn Serbian (My dad is Serbian) I'm going to give it a real shot. I have a goal of somewhat fluency (being able to conversate and stuff) by my 14th birthday in like 10.5 months

Im only halfway done with the video but I got to say the sticking to the one textbook thing makes so much sense! There are so many free resources for Korean (which I have been learning on and off for almost a decade LOL) and because I try to incorporate so many different lessons from various sources, I get SO overwhelmed. Going to definitely minimize the resources I use lol. And I want to learn so many other languages as well but I think sticking to just one or two is better for me because my attention span has dwindled since high school haha. Thank you for these helpful tips!

For listening to songs in your target language I noticed that for japanese if you sing along to the lyric versions of songs with Romaji (as long as you know how to properly pronounce it) it improves listening, since as a beginner (at least for me) I have a hard time identifying specific sounds in Japanese and of course pronunciation too! :)

Explaining the 'comprehensible input' part was great! I've seen so many language learning advise videos but no one explained it as well as you did!

amo tu acentooo...! ¡Abrazos!

I’m 15 and I’m French. I’ve been learning English for 3 years now and I think that this is the perfect time to learn a new language since I don’t have a lot of work to do and have plenty of time ! I’m really motivated to learn Italian and German at the same time but I don’t even know (remember) how I reached this level in English haha

I really needed some help 😭 anyways I just want to thank you again for this helpful video ✨🤍

I exposed my self to them, I listened everyday even I can't understand them but when the days goes by I think I understand them a little and sometimes I tried to talk to them and I think it really helps me to improve :)
