This is my first hands-on video about the Arturia Keylab MK3 keyboard - the top of the line midi controller from Arturia. The Arturia Keylab MK3 is a full size, premium keyboard that Arturia makes. I discuss the features, the build quality, the key and pad feel, the new screen, DAW compatibility and demo all the features including sound demos with Arturia's Analog Lab. The Arturia Keylab MK3 has lots of NEW features including an arpeggiator, chords, drum pads, encoder knobs, faders, and more. But this keyboard may be missing a few small features. Watch and find out!

As an mkii user this was my face at the beginning😃. My face by the end 😞. Thank you for the in-depth and honest review Sanjay.

Seriously...?! This is what took them so long...?! And the small size display - really?! What a disappointment!

I just wish Arturia would come out with a weighted-keyboard with all of the upgrades (drumpads, knobs, sliders) and just drive the nail into Native Instruments.

Your cadence and approach to topics in your videos is phenomenal! I watched a few of your videos yesterday which inspired me to purchase my first midi keyboard controller to continue my music production journey! Thank you for the interesting, creative and educational videos!

Oof, I was really expecting cv ports and poly aftertouch on this one.

A sponsor relevant to the channel. And you use it for the video! Well done!

pity they removed 4 pads. And imo those wooden sides look bad on the white one; they should be darker. I expected a bigger screen this time around, but that looks weird. They made a big screen and then put a small square icon on it. I think everything you said about this screen is pretty spot on. I feel like Arturia dropped the ball here.

thanks for sharing.

It's an outright downgrade functionality wise from keylab mk2. Fewer pads and control buttons in the slider area, among other things.
Go home Arturia, you're drunk!

Hi Sanjay! Hope you guys are well!

At last, the KeyLab MKIII is here.

It definitely got some nice improvements, especially with the screen and its interface.

However, as I had the MKII (before giving it to my nephew), I wouldn't upgrade to the MKIII as the upgrades are not that significant.

However, for someone looking out forna premium mido controller and doesn't want to pay the higher price from Native Instruments S series, then this is the one to get!

Nice overview of this long awaited keyboard!!

Next step, NI Maschine MK IV / +2 !!!

It's a shame they don't allow you to move the right side to the left, and left side to the right. Seems like that would have been an innovative way to customize the faders/knobs for those that prefer left hand control of those. I agree with you that this seems like a minor update over the previous version. I'd prefer the 12 pads that are responsive to 16 not so great myself, but single note aftertouch is not as good as NI's board, and their screen is much better. The NI board is great with the lack of faders and pads though it's not quite the right one. What I really want is a board that allows me to position pads, faders/knobs, an adjustable angled large screen like NIs, and a joystick with lock/free modes to allow for x/y pad movement, and pitch bend/modulation movement. Also.. full RGB per key and all knobs/faders with screens indicating their values easily readable. I feel like I am going to have to build my own damn keyboard to get what I really want. Gees.

meh... sort of disappointing to be honest. I am leaning heavier toward the Push, at this point, unless Novation drops a nuke on the scene. The screen is too small and basic, keys are not lit like the NI, not even poly aftertouch and definitely not 'full touch', when they invented it. Like NI, its a bit tied to its own ecosystem (not as badly, but still). I have seen a couple of Novation hints on Instagram, as of late, and I am thinking a new SL MKIV is coming. One can hope. With no great keyboard controllers, I am starting to think the Push just makes better sense. I am probably wrong, but it is what it is. Its a smaller footprint and I do like that. My keyboardist/guitarist hands can learn.

0:02 I know the mk4 will be great. Six years will fly by and we'll have a fantastic Keylab in 2030 💔

Agree with you on the fader and knob orientation... kinda haven't understood this on many keyboards and yet the majority of them do this.
It's fine if you add automation after... but kinda annoying if you like to record directly to a better feel or automat as you play as ideas are often best done in one motion... often you have to cross arms to do this.

It is strange how the previous generation of Arturia fought side by side with Native Instruments and the decision between one or the other had to be based on small details of the workflow. Now it seems like they've moved away from the competition to pursue their own niche... which still doesn't make sense because the mk3 series doesn't have polyphonic aftertouch to control the synths, the new standard. Great review as always Sanjay!

I just got the mk2 about 5 months ago, TBH I'm glad it's not some groundbreaking new gizmo for me to get the itch for. 😅
