Studiologic Numa Compact 2 | Unboxing/Review/Demo
Mighty. Portable. Sounds Great

Watch me, a classical musician, unbox and review my first keyboard/midi controller! I've been having heaps of fun playing around with this, and would recommend it to anyone after a portable and affordable keyboard. Sweetwater ratings give it a 4 out of 5.

Thank you! I have looking for my first keyboard and after narrowing it down to just a few, the Numa Compact 2X has become the favourite. But I really wanted to hear the drums on their own (it's important that I can write my own drum parts) but none of the reviews even feature the drums. This must be my fifteenth review video in the last 12 hours and finally, at 6am, I find one that features the drum sounds individually! Thank you!
And yes, they're acceptable, and now this - well the 2x- is my fave to buy!

This is rebirth of the m audio pro keys 88sx with speakers as an add on feature. Your review is very informative, thank you.

Just ordered this one used from Guitar center. Fingers crossed I get what hardware comes with it(at least the power unit)!

Great review!!! 👍Can you do a comparison with SL 88? I do not have an idea on either buying Numa or SL....😂

I'm a bit late to react to this review, but I'm thinking about getting a Numa Compact 2X. However, in your review and others on youtube, I've noticed that the keys can be really 'clacky' : they make quite a lot of noise when playing. Seems like low quality. Should I be worried ? I also have the Korg Kross 2 88, which you also reviewed and that keybed is fantastic. I realize that the Numa is only semi-weighted, but still, a bit worried about the 'plasticky clackiness'. What's your opinion ?

What would be the closest 61 full size key digital piano to this model? I'm trying to stay under $500

I just bought it and like the concert piano sound. But the D#4 sounds odd, I can hear it loop. Does it do that on your compact 2?

Great review! One question, do you know why there are two separate transpose in the transpose option?

Hi, Studiologic Numa Compact 2, it has a midi / audio in-out connection, so that you can hear the sound with an iPad through the loudspeakers and headphones. Thanks Paul

Thanks for posting. I was wondering can you load more voices and is there a bank where you can store voices you may have built yourself. cheers

Thanks for the video! I thinking on starting learning piano. Would you recommend it for playing 80s classics and can you do loops? I already play guitar and I might want to play both leaving the piano melody or chords while playing guitar.

since you are classical pianist, you have an experienced opinion, do you still like the feel of the keys on the numa? for playing classical or jazz or etc? i need to buy a 1st electric piano within this month or next, after playing acoustic piano since summer and studying piano in 1st year music composition & performance studies, practicing a variety of beginner/intermediate pieces including classical and jazz standards. this one seems excellent, has speakers, portable, usb powered, light to carry, small to store, all midi features too. my other choice is the new yamaha p121 which is small/light 73 key, 10kg (22 lbs), electric piano with very limited features altho it has yamaha GHS ("graded hammer standard") key feel, weight-wise it is heavier, physically taller and thicker, and almost as wide as the numa 88 key. so actually the yamaha p121 73-key is physically bigger than this numa compact 88 key. as typical the piano instructors say "get semi weighted or fully weighted keyboard if possible" to learn proper dynamics. so anyway, how do you feel about the playability now? your playing in this video sounded excellent.

How is the Key bed? Is it comparable to a Yamaha P-125?
