It is directed by the guy who directed Sicario, Enemy, and Prisoners... instant watch for me. The guy knows how to handle slow paced movies and makes them gorgeous to look at.

I think you might have misunderstood the bit you're talking about in the spoilers section. It wasn't the US government that did that. And what happened was perfectly plausible, especially in today's political environment.

This is actual Sci-Fi. I came out smiling and satisfied. The film score is incredible, it still sticks in my head after watching it.

"Each one of the ships is in a major world power."
It was stated several times throughout the movie that this was not the case and that no one could figure out any sort of pattern to where they chose to land.

Need this Good-Bad flick done:

Ravenous (1999)

Especially since it's been on Netflix for awhile. ;-)

Great stuff, you deserve far more subs.

I was surprised when Superman showed up at the end.

You should also watch Nocturnal Animals GoodBadFlicks. Amy Adams and the rest of the cast are outstanding in this symbolic neo noir revenge thriller.

Have you ever seen the signal? Would love to hear your opinion of it.

I agree. I wish serious sci-fi movies would stop the whole “We will fight the aliens” trope. Any alien ship that can effortlessly hang in the air is going to have ZERO problem destroying earth - especially given that humans can already do that. In reality, my bet is that we would go to great lengths to make alien visitors feel safe and welcome.

I litterally stop the video, went to theater, watch the movie and came back

The reason why a group of the US military tries to destroy the ship is because fear, you can see several scenes building up to that, you have scenes where media, internet and people (one of the soldiers talks to a scared family member) are spreading fear, it's basically how most people will act when they face something they really do not know...sad but true.

I just saw it a few hours ago, and it was certainly a thought-provoking movie. It was fun to watch the truth unfold and get the full picture. Btw, I really enjoy your reviews. Keep up the great work.

Great video! I totally agreed that Amy Adams was amazing in this. I recently saw her in Nocturnal Animals and she's starting to really grow on me too. Also agreed with the gripe you had in the spoiler bit. I do think it was cliched but considering all the miscommunication and tensions we're seeing at the moment in real life, I can see why it was there and really added to the message of the film. So I'm going to agree yet disagree with you on that one. Amazing review! You have a new subscriber!

Watch as this video gets copyright struck anyway.

I just watched this yesterday, absolutely fantastic movie. My sister in law (God bless her heart) didn't get it lol, but I thought it was brilliant, especially the way time flowed in the movie. It was a long movie but it did well to keep the viewer engaged. And about your gripe, I don't think it's fair, it could definetely happen, except for the whole bomb thing. I can't see that happening at all.

@GoodBadFlicks It's weird you get so much trouble with copyright strikes, I usually include whole segments of the tailer in my reviews; every now and then I get a copyright claim (usually Sony automated system) but one click and a dispute later, it's usually solved within a few hours.
