Dog tricks and fun | Flat coated retriever Alpha - 2 year old

My dog Alpha is celebrating her second birthday, so I decided to put our first video on YouTube.
Alpha can do a little over 50 tricks, but not all the tricks fit into my video.

I taught my Flattie Bodie to run through my legs, it didn't go well when he tried it with other much smaller people. Such great dogs, thanks for the video!

Very nice job. I did some of the same things with my flat-coated retriever when she was 4-6 and some of it affected her health poorly down the road. I think maybe because of the way they’re built.?. Not sure. But I recommend not doing tricks on cement or pavement, and keeping up with it but in small increments but not too much. I like to think that a quick swim, cool quick bath/shower, or being out in cool weather is a great help (natural anti-inflammatories) after working with them. I’m hoping to get my next FCR into the retrieving/field work. ❤️

Ihr seid wundervoll, ihr Beiden. Ein super Team und ein wunderschöner Hund. Meine Wilma, auch 2 Jahre alt, könnte eine Schwester sein - aber sie kann nur 10 Tricks. Ich hab jetzt Lust bekommen ihr noch mehr beizubringen. Danke.

Lovely to see and well trained. I must speak up though since I’m always on the animals side and I know you love your dog dearly. Please do training and tricks that doesn’t wear and tear on the dogs body; they are not build for doing backwards movements etc. and it can affect their hips and legs in a negative way causing them unnecessary suffering in the long run. All my love and wish you a long, happy and healthy life together 👋🥰🐶
