Avoid These Investing Mistakes!

After building a dividend portfolio over the last 12 years I have encountered many challenges along the way. In this video I share the lessons I have learned and the mistakes I have made so others can benefit from them. The idea is to build a diversified dividend portfolio in large reliable companies in the FTSE 100 and some ETFs in order to generate a consistent passive income stream. I also discuss the psychology of investing in the stock market and how 90 percent of day traders lose money. This is a useful guide to all those who are new to investing and want to increase their awareness of potential pitfalls and mistakes.

Amazing video, this should have way more views! You had some really interesting examples here.
I reckon it would be fascinating to see how a lot of retail investors have got on from 2020 onwards, as there is just so much "questionable" info out there these days that is influencing people!
Also a big problem i have noticed is that some youtube channels don't seem to care much about their viewers, they use clickbait tactics + speculative info to get views, some of it is genuinely a minefield out there.

I know this video is a year old, but just catching up. I've started my daughter a Junior ISA. Before she was 1 I'd invested a small amount into 2 funds which are up 28 & 25%. I've now moved some of the new money into dividend shares, and am trying to mirror my own portfolio along side. Hopefully she can have some financial freedom at 18 that I'd wish I had - and I also hope she will carry on with investing.

Do you recommend any books or websites that simplify and demystify how to analyse a company’s balance sheet etc and what key things to look for? You mentioned dividend target of 4-6% (which i agree with) and dividend cover of circa x2, but i wondered if there were a few more stats i should be looking out for.
