Everytime I hear this song I think of going for a ride in the car with my mom on a crisp fall night in 1986 in Buffalo ny. I was 14 years old. I remember it being on the radio that night along with The Miami Sound Machine's "the words get in the way". My mom past in 1997. Hearing this song reminds me of her.

A time when British music was by far the best in the world!

I love the girls’ style in the 80s. Much better and more classy looking than today’s imo even if it was ott

So blessed to have grown up in the 80's so care free and the best music ..

Song was a bigger hit in America than in their own country. Jam and Lewis's production was decidedly more rooted in the American soul-inspired music scene,

The Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis production on this tune is timeless.

Love it when you think you have heard every song there is to know, then all of a sudden you find a gem from another era!

TOTP’s finest band of the 80’s... absolute No comparison in today’s shitty music. Back then music was real and still has pure substance!#Timeless👊🏼

It's 1986 in South Mississippi. I'm laying on the floor watching videos. My mom comes in when this song came in about the time he says, "of flesh and blood. A man". She sees his make up and is like, huh? What?. Lmao. Her face...lol.

This is an absolute banger. One of Jam and Lewis's best produced works. They were unstoppable in the 80's/90's.

The last 7 inch single I ever bought. CDs from 1986, but still got my vinyl collection!

Oh what a time it was to be a 16 yo. Not long after I was exposed to Metallica and man what an awakening.
I still love the music that came before discovering Metallica, Maiden and Ozzy though as it is still part of my soul. This is such a beautiful song and miss the way People and the United States was back in the 80's. Along with the sound of music and our nation it quickly started changing once 1990 came along.

Phillip Oakey has such an amazing voice. His delivery looks effortless. Jimmy Jam’s and Terry Lewis’ production made for a powerful song, yet allowed Oakey to soar. Unfortunately the album was fraught with disputes with Jam and Lewis. Nevertheless, it yielded a classic recording that never sounds stale.

Can I just please go back to the eighties where things made perfect sense.

Only just realised, it sounds just like an Alexander O’Neal song!
Same producer probably.
