I like that one and I agree with you. I like more spicy pepperoni. Great review.

It would taste awesome if you add some garlic butter on the top and put it in the oven

I serve them with a tomato spaghetti sauce for dipping.

I buy pretty good tasting Jimmy Dean English muffin sandwiches at Dollar Tree. And since you're lately an Aldi shopper you might try their French bread pizzas and pork egg rolls. I use my little toaster oven to heat the aforementioned so they'll taste different from microwave cooking.

A calzone needs some marinara or pizza sauce in my humble opinion, glad it was better than the cheese one

those Aldi clamshell calzones are WAY too heavy on the dough. I stopped buying those for that reason. I love the stromboli in the box (a little pricey), and at one time they had the calzone in a cello wrap, which I loved. Another customer bought like the entire display of them. Never had them since, just these in the clear clamshell. I pass over them.

I don't get where you reviewed these and the stromboli in the cardboard box and found THOSE too doughy and not these. I've bought many of both, and these, in the clamshell are a majority dough! So I've found exactly the opposite of you.

IMO....baked dough that's chilled or frozen then reheated in a microwave does not fare well. The crust suffers from deterioration---either rock hard as you stated, soggy or has a weird pasty taste. I stopped buying Toaster Strudel, Hot Pockets and such because of these reasons plus the fat and salt content is all too often excessive for a portion beyond snack size.

Your saying the name sooo wrong... coming from a cozzi.

A Mama Cozzi's calzone would taste really great..., if they had actually put some of those cheeses & pepperoni & added some sauce. I don't think that Mama Aldi is even Italian ! One of the most disappointing things about these so-called calzones is that they even try to sell them. If I want to eat Italian food, I'll just make it myself !!
