2022 OC Tet Festival at Mile Square Park in Fountain Valley (Feb4-6, 2022)
(1-minute video recap of the festival)
In the Vietnamese culture, the Lunar New Year – also known as Tet, or Tết – is the most important celebration of the year.
It is a time for families to gather and express our respect and remembrance for our ancestors.
It is a celebration of hope and renewal that symbolizes the opportunities we have ahead of us.
To celebrate the Lunar New Year, I hosted the annual Orange County Tet Festival at Mile Square Park in Fountain Valley.
The three-day-long celebration featured an array of exquisite Vietnamese cuisine, talented entertainers, cultural performances, carnival rides, lion dances, and a spectacular firecracker display.
Each Lunar New Year represents one of twelve Zodiac animals, which are commonly associated with certain personality traits.
2022 is the year of the tiger. The tiger stands for resilience, courage, and optimism.
The Vietnamese American community is integral to the social, economic, and cultural tapestry of Orange County.
Here in the First District, Little Saigon is home to the largest population of Vietnamese outside of Vietnam.
After 47 years, the Vietnamese community has integrated into the American life, a tribute to the great nation that America is.
Thank you to all the performers, food vendors, staff, and everyone who attended the 2022 Tet Festival at Mile Square Park.
May this year, the year of the tiger, be filled with good health and prosperity for all!
