I've basically been on a carnivore diet for over a year. I eat a lot of red meat and use butter to cook. My cholesterol levels have not changed. I've lost body fat and I've gained muscle mass. My recovery rate has greatly improved. But, I also exercise frequently. I am sixty-six.

I went to a wedding dinner last night and all I put on my plate was brisket, everyone looked at me like I was crazy. What’s interesting is that I was the skinniest one at my table, insulin resistance was alive and well last night!

It's not the cholesterol in animal based food products that's the problem, it's the saturated fat. That definitely raises LDL. 🤦‍♂️

Dietary cholesterol does effect your cholesterol lol I went down to three or four eggs a week, and mostly chicken and slightly low carb diet and my cholesterol went down almost 100 points in a month. I took this fitness advice about eating a bunch of eggs everyday(3) and eating red meat is fine blah blah blah. I did this for about 6-8 months and my lipid levels and cholesterol was so high our machines at work wouldn’t even read them and I was having chest pains (like quite a bit). Switched some things around and I’ve been fine since

But the good ol people in the pharma industry say cholesterol bad, statins good

But there’s a mountain of studies that say LDL and ApoB are directly associated with atherosclerosis

Saturated fat raises LDL. this isn't as debated a topic as these fringe doctors make it sound.

My Total and LDL went really high, but my Triglycerides came way down.

Am I the only one who never knew this guy was on Joe Rogan? 😂

I’ll give y’all a cheat sheet. Forget about the LDL. Divide your tryglicerides by your HDL score. A score less than 2 is optimum, but less than 1 is more desirable. As long as that ratio is between 0 and 2, you be good.

What's really sad is most doctors refuse to do the research as well and are scared to death of getting sued, so they just over prescribe statins.

Everybody is different though, so like for me, I have hired the normal cholesterol levels born because I have heart disease in my family so though maybe someone who’s on a diet doesn’t need to worry about that it does not mean that’s how it is for everybody

That's correct! To go 360 degrees with what we already know and got used to is like going back to kindergarten and understanding where babies come from.

Sheeple don't need to be convinced, they need to be told.
Don't debate sheeple, it is pointless.

My LDL 166, HDL 79, Triglyceride 51. CAC test score: zero. My pcp pissed at me not taking statins. I told him I rather take Red Rice Yeast, he was not interested in what I have to say. Me switching pcp.

It doesn’t de novo cause atherosclerosis but it does contribute to plaque formation as it acts like a plaster to repair damaged blood vessel endothelium. Saladino’s understanding of this is a bit off. Better to listen to cardiologists. (I’m a UK doctor.)

Cholesterol or triglycerides is the real culprit?

He's bald because of atherosclerosis.
