Is This the Perfect Hall Effect Joystick for the DualSense?

I’m testing out a later version of the Ginfull Hall effect joystick. It was sold as V5 and does have quite a few changes from previous versions I’ve looked at. I will look at the delays associated with the Hall effect sensor.  I'll look at the gamepad tester results from one of the joysticks installed in a DualSense controller.

I installed these about 10 months ago and have had zero issues. The centering and calibration tool being on website is just a blessing.

Thank you so much. I just replaced both my sticks and they are working great now. I was a little confused about how you got to test it with the board outside the controller but figured out that I just needed to connect the battery to test it. What I also realized is that the hall effect sticks don't have the static friction that the potentiometer strip has, so it feels quite a bit smoother.

I just did 2 controllers in 1 night what a doozy, all ginfull v5. I played NFS heat with both, swirling in traffic and drifting feels the same or even smoother than the stock, 0 delay that I can feel. Both 3-5% circularity, that magnet design really helped.

Great video. After seeing your review I'll be swapping out my previous gen hall sticks with these. And I'll be recommending your video to others who might want hall effect joysticks.

It's great that they keep refining these hall effect joysticks to make them better and better. It definitely beats buying a new controller every couple of months due to stick-drift.

Also there is a kit for the DualSense Edge joystick modules but a calibration board needs to be used until someone can get the software calibration to work with the Edge. Currently that's just for DualShock 4 and DualSense controllers.

For anyone that wants to know I just had them installed on my dual sense. They’re really good! I play Apex & I’ve noticed an improvement on aim & smoothness. I haven’t noticed any input delay either. Definitely worth the investment.
Also, if installing is too much work, there are people on eBay doing it for you. That’s where I had mine done - for £30. Took 5 days (send & return). I saw this as the better option, as opposed to buying a new controller.

Just got mine in today and swapped them over... that factory soldier is a pita to deal with. Otherwise, it's not a bad repair to do. They are working great, more or less feels OE to me. Thanks for posting this video and links, very helpful.

For anyone actually wondering about the “delay” I took the time to actually install these and tested them in game and there was no difference that I could spot. They did not feel slower despite the fact that a computer could spot the difference. It COULD just be me as this is a trial of one person but as far as I can tell you won’t even feel a performance decrease. And they have better circularity as mine were firmly at 2.1% avg error compared to the potentiometers which were all at around 12%

Oh damn, looks like I'm ordering a new batch of Hall effect sticks. The ones currently in the mail are L-8L. Guess I'm looking for L-4B now. Thanks for the links!
