I adore this moment. I remember just aching to ask her to be my friend, then wondering if you can match same-colored stones, then getting hit by this. The first half is the perfect fake-out too.

I cried so much at that line. The fact that so far away from home, in a place where reality's rules break down and time is meaningless, a complete stranger was so willing to offer friendship and warmth broke me.

The protagonist and Solanum are almost as different as individuals can get, yet even while being of different species, with thousands upon thousands of years separating them, they are driven by the same curiosity, and look at the stars with the same sense of childlike wonder shared between all beings when faced with the unfathomable scale of the universe.

This game is a masterpiece.

Solanum was already my favourite Nomai to read from for a variety of reasons (legit had like a personal character journey centered around reading her messages) so meeting her out of all the Nomai it could have been felt so incredibly special
