I love how every episode of this show is just batshit and crazy throughout and to top it all off we get a rather calm and mellow song.

The song seems so brimmed with meaning and power in it's lyrics despite being in a rather unserious anime.

The song is about a homesick angel who refers to heaven throughout the entire song in it's long for expressing it's feelings about heaven's warmth and comfort. Similarly like the anime which is about two angels who were kicked out of heaven and seek to return.
If you apply these same lyrics onto a human, the song becomes a devout person's ode to heaven/god whom they feel closer related to than earth.
The song's lyrics become in fact very sad if you think of them being sung out of a human's perspective since it sounds like the person has completely distanced himself from the world and wants to die. Especially when you read passages like:
"Heaven, take me into your skies" or
"When the rain, the storm and all is done", the rain the storm and all being the force of nature and the tides of time, referring to the end of time, meaning when you are at the end of your days. Then "Caress me with your sweet lullaby...", a lullaby being a song you sing to soothe someone to sleep. Which is an euphemism for killing someone. The singer is welcoming death in this passage, as he embraces the idea of getting caressed by the sweet lullaby at the end of his days rather than being scared of it.

And this is a pretty lewd Anime, so of course the song also seems to be about a rather lonesome girl and her devotion to her lover.

I also love how you can view the lyrics out of the different perspectives and they take on new meanings. On one hand the girl that wants to take her loved one into her arms and that she promises not to betray. On the other hand heaven/god whom she wants to take into her arms(metaphorically), so where she wants to return to and not to betray him with another heaven/god as "it's you that I believe in (I believe in)".

Or for example:
"You're so close (so close)
So close, but far away, I can't touch."
Which you can literally see as heaven being in her viewable range and hence close, heaven being close to her heart or her loved one being close to her heart. But of course far away, cause we can't reach heaven/afterlife from here.

Just so much to like about this song.

This is a classic for sure who knew the adult raunchy anime comedy would be one to remember one to change people’s humor everywhere one to give us this blessing of such an amazing soundtrack
