40 series sounds great. Also, I'm just amazed at how clean that '00 is underneath. I'm in Rhode Island, I look at these occasionally and they're all rusty POS's up here.

Just put 40 series on my 7.4 vortec. Sounds was better than being straight pipe, WAY quieter all around. Maybe go with 10 series later on. JBA shorties next

40 series is so much better. Sounds refined on a Tahoe. Straight pipes makes the thing sound broken.

For anyone that’s curious and owns a Tahoe. I’ve had two Tahoes. A 2000 Tahoe with the 5.3vortec and a 2004 Tahoe with the 5.3vortec and my 2000 Tahoe had a muffler delete and sounded cool but was sluggish afterwords and you really gotta push the pedal down a lot more then usual. And obviously that’s worse for mpg. But my 04 Tahoe has all stock exhaust and gets up and goes very easily on the pedal. But then I ended up cutting off the muffler on my 04 Tahoe to hear it after I sold my 2000 Tahoe and it drove the same way. Sluggish and worse mpg.

I ran a 40 on my '02 Tahoe. It sounds amazing, but the drone is HORRIBLE. That fellow will be back soon.

I have a 2001 Yukon 2wd with almost identical exhaust set up as the second one, except 3 inch straight pipe...revs awesome...but could be a little louder

I FOUND MY SETUP FOR MY 97 TAHIE, THE 40 SERIES tjat you had setup on the first tahoe in this video.IT HAS the right loping zound and good rumbel still

I tried to order it on amazon and it said it won’t fit my 2004 gmc yukon it has the same engine the 5.3l v8

They both sound good. But that's what's nice about those old Tahoes, it doesn't matter what you do to the exhaust. They're going to sound good.

If you make it skinny pipe then big pipe it will sound a lot better

Straight pipe = no low end torque. Sounds good tho.
