Building A Tree Fort In Grizzly Bear Territory Day 19 of 30 Day Survival Challenge Canadian Rockies

Hoping to hover above bears, Ovens & Fowler make progress on the grizzly bear safe tree fort shelter platforms, as the sun finally shines on the survival pair. The solar power also motivates an early hike to Grizzly Lake, leading to a fish catching frenzy for both men! Not only does Greg test out his bushcraft fishing rod, he also gets his bush built set trap line in the water.

There's only one rule for the 30 Day Survival Challenge: If you want to eat, you got to Catch and Cook it.

Greg is a self-taught survivalist from Canal Flats, British Colombia, who, since he was a boy, has read nearly every book on the topic. When he is not out in the wilderness, he is a professional dry-waller. He started his first bow drill fire when he was thirteen and spent the next forty years learning bushcraft and studying plants and edibles. He has even developed some of his own survival techniques and is a skilled hunter with both a bow and a slingshot.

I admire you Greg. You are capable of living close to nature (which is tough) and at the same time your spirit is extremely civilized and calm. Keep your rod tip up in the air. Grab the line with your second hand when its close and pull it in. Keep your tip in the air will help keep the hook sunk. If its to the side, when the fish turns to swim back out it will unhook itself
