The 3C’s of living an ALL IN life: creativity, courage, character. That’s what colleges r looking 4!

how did I get into every Ivy League?
I followed these 3C's:
CREATIVITY. Colleges are looking for dreamers who think outside of the box. They want innovators & unconventional solutions. Be resourceful. Use what you have to build something bigger & better. That's why starting a new club or better yet starting something outside of school is better than just being club president—colleges want to see you do something new with what you've been given.
COURAGE. It takes courage to be different & enter uncharted waters. Colleges are looking for trailblazers. You'll face rejection. You'll face naysayers. You'll face your own internal critic that constantly asks, Can I actually do this? The answer is yes, you can. It's all within you. Do you have the courage to be different? To go where no one's gone before?
CHARACTER. It takes character—perseverance, grit, integrity, compassion, leadership—to not only start something, but to sustain it. It's not about the objective size of impact, but relative (to what you started with). Can you grow the impact of an organization? Can you reach more people every year? Will you double down on your mission in the face of hardship?
In high school, I tapped into my creativity via writing: plays, poetry, journalism. I summoned courage to send them out into the world, entering competitions, going after big-ticket events like Disneyland movie premieres & Marvel press junkets. When my editors did all they could do, I went out & built my own network of publicists from major studios. I built my character by not giving up when I faced rejection (lots of rejection). I worked hard (hours and hours of writing & research & standing in the hot sun at these events). I maintained my journalistic integrity. I took leadership positions, not because I love to lead, but to make a tangible impact in my school, church, & even communities overseas.
& guess what? Following these 3C's doesn't just help you get into a wonderful school; it ensures that your life is filled with fun & passion. This is what I call an ALL IN life.
