NOT CAP. I haven't flown southwest in years due to their open seating policy. People get territorial and downright stupid. After an almost scuffle, I decided I would NEVER fly southwest again. Can't argue with assigned seating.

I'm glad they have opted to do assigned seating. I recently flew Southwest and set my alarm for the 24 hour period to check in. I was in the "A" group. My was delayed several times...loss my "A" group once they had to reschedule my flight. I was super upset. I missed sleep to get in the "A" group...to be removed. I was livid. Plus, most people get stuck in the middle seating.

Just yesterday I went to check in at EXACTLY 24 hours prior to my flight and was assigned position C17! WTF? This is because Southwest had previously SOLD precheck-in positions prior to opening it up to those of us who won't play that game. So, there's no level playing field, they'll do anything to make more money and selling premium seating is just another name for what they've already been doing. Anyway you slice it, the airline industry continues to screw its passengers while telling them it's really what they want as per their bogus "surveys."
