Cats: "You smell different, but you're still my babies"

If a mama cat knows you, you're the giant babysitter she can rely on when she needs some time to herself.

I remember when my cat accidentally snuck out one night and came home pregnant lmao. She went into labor when I was already at school and we kept her and her babies in a comfy box in the closet. Then one night, I woke up at like maybe midnight or 2 am and I felt a bunch of little things crawling under my blanket. That’s when I realized that my cat trusted me so much that she brought them all the way under my blanket for warmth. I felt so loved but a bit anxious cuz I fear I might accidentally squish the little guys. That is a major core memory for me

When mama brings her babies to you, you know you have been really blessed.

"Their mamas will abandon them if you hold them and get your scent on them, " is something we tell children so they don't handle wild baby animals.

My cat tried to give birth on my lap since i wasnt sitting near the box bed i made her... It made the inner mom inside me cry a little.

This reminds me of when one of my cats went into labour in my room, I had to move her out and into a better place to have her kittens. She spent the entire delivery looking at me and reaching out towards me, whenever I had to leave for a moment, she would started yowling for me, she trusted me that much that I was even able to help maneuver her newborns. Even now, she's practically attached to me

I had a cat a few years ago who got out before I could get her fixed and got pregnant when she had her babies she let love on them all I wanted I helped her move them to a safe spot. And I would spend time with them everyday they all went to good homes but sometimes I miss them

My cat used to let me watch the kittens for her when she wanted to go eat or something like that and it was the cutest thing
She’d always say thanks by cuddling up to me 🥹

I had a cat that, after giving birth, whenever I sat down beside her, she'd leave to get food, water and anything else she needed, and left the kittens in my care. I don't think I've ever been trusted more in my life.

We had a stray cat this year who had her babies in our roof. She was very tame and would let anyone hold her babies ❤

There was this owner that had two cats that both gave birth at around the same time.
After the first week or so, the two mamas started trading off caretime, one would take care of BOTH litters while the other could eat, nap, etc, then they’d swap.
Looks like every species needs some personal time.

Cats trust so much. My dad said with our foster cat through the entire delivery bc he said every time he would leave she’d start to cry. He wanted to be there for her as an emotional support human. She had five babies 🥰

It is all about trust
A stray cat I fed daily let me play with her kittens and even take them with me for vet visits

If your cat trusts you, they will just bring the kittens to you and treat you like a babysitter 😂❤

we had a stray cat a few years ago who got pregnant and had babies in our pumphouse. after about a week or two, she moved them one by one to underneath our house so they'd be closer to us. that baby was SO sweet and trusting from the moment she met us to the moment we dropped them off at the shelter (someone was already interested in fostering/adopting them). i just hope i did right by her and didn't let them down.
