$900 invested in s&p in 1960 would be worth $400K today.

Every pre-dayto is so rare that its hard to truely value it

Just goes to show. The value is in perception. Rolexes sell because people know them and that's basically it. Most regular folks have never heard of Patek, Pierre Kunz, Vacheron, or brands like that. They used to be affordable tools, just not good enough to power or build a watch for the moon.

$1, 000 in 1968 is equivalent in purchasing power to about $8, 673.45 today

If its late 1960s, its not pre Daytona.. the black and white panda face 'Daytona' was introduced in 1962, the ref. 6234. In 1963, the word Daytona was added and it became ref. 6263. Both are based on the Valjoux72 Calibre, of Swiss origin, but not made by Rolex in house. This item also appears to be built with the Valjoux72, the dead giveaway being unequal distance from the crown to the chrono function pushers.

I seen one that was still in the box. The guy bought it when he was in Vietnam and had it shipped home. It had the receipt and everything with it still. Under $1000. Never worn. Had to be a million $ time piece

$900 in 1969 to $750, 000 in present day, as a 9% annual return after inflation. By comparison of the stock market had an 8% annual return after inflation.

Does it tell you your elevation? Is that the dial thing around the outside ? Genuinely curious

I think the 45.5 mm OMEGA Seamaster Planet Ocean chronograph in Stainless/White numerals is the most beautiful watch I’ve ever seen.
