"Mozart Snapshots!" Episode 2 "A Visit to the House where Mozart was Born"
Each and everyone of us is shaped by the place where we spend our earliest years. Mozart was no exception. One of the first true cosmopolites of classical music, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was a native of the picturesque alpine city of Salzburg, Austria. In this new series, I will explore Mozart's relationship to his home town through fun-filled conversations, insightful interviews and once-in-a-lifetime visits to interesting locations in Salzburg that have a special connection to Mozart and his family, then and now.
Leopold Mozart often referred to his son Wolfgang as “the miracle which God let be born in Salzburg”. But just where and when was Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart born, and when did his family first notice his musical gifts? In Episode 2, I visit the Mozart Geburtshaus, and take you through to the rooms where "Wolferl" spent his early years.
